May 13May 13 It takes a special kind of stupid to think the entire world would destroy their local economies for a US election.

Monday at 11:57 PM5 days Have I been missing out on the news or does nobody get COVID anymore when it used to be that everything was COVID

Somewhere around 500-2000 hospitalizations per week (estimated) which is pretty mellow thankfully. It's become a lot less severe but can still hit some people like the flu and still likes to impact small blood vessels for whatever reasons.

Could have just as easily come and gone like SARS COV. And I don't see much data that our susceptibility has changed much. So not really sure what you're talking about there. But yeah once it became clear this was going to be endemic the hope is that it would gradually become less contagious and less virulent like swine flu. And it has thankfully.

And it has thankfully.I mean everything I read from real experts pretty much nailed it in terms of the morphing, etc. over time AND the harmful levels of effects it would have on humans. Yes, I'm talking about once it was clear things were ramping into epidemic mode. When I say susceptibility I'm talking about how things would develop both in terms of the outbreaks, risk of getting sick, and on the seriousness of the virus on human health and I'm talking about how those things would develop over time (i.e. as the virus mutated and as we started to gain some levels of immunity). Naturally, the vaccine adjusted things positively for the seriousness of the sickness levels which was both great and critical.Having said that, everyone also was clear to say "we don't know for sure" but the best educated "guesses" by the leading experts turned out to be very accurate.
Tuesday at 01:11 PM5 days Don't even bother engaging with the swedish idiot, he was the one that kept insisting masks didn't work from the outset. As for mutations and virulence, nobody foresaw how devastating the Delta and Omicron variants would be. Even after vaccines rolled out, things got a lot worse before they got better. The data is indisputable on this. Anyone that argues otherwise is applying revisionist history.
Tuesday at 08:18 PM4 days If Lindsey Graham had died during 2020-21 it would have been at least speculated it was COVID. Same for what’s happening with Mitch McConnell
