It takes a real moron to not be able to deduce that and instead rant about it. Or they are picking someone up/just dropped them off and know that the virus lingers in the air. In the latter case, I'd just put all the windows down and air that b**ch out, but people are pretty absent-minded. I'd rather they be overzealous instead of careless, though.

They're talking about 3-5 year old's, and trust me, it's coming. These guys have a plan and dumb-arsed American's are making it easy on them by acquiescing to everything they've been told to do.

Yup, I work 8-10 hour shifts with one on so I just get used to it and don't even think about it when I leave to go home..... Not always though. When it's hot and humid I definitely don't forget I have that sweaty face diaper on lol

May 12, 20214 yr My son-in-law is on the day after his second dose today. He feels pretty poorly. I told him that it should pass...
May 12, 20214 yr There's been some mixed messaging for sure, especially early on, but that's because he's been forced to wear a lot of hats and has been designated as the face of our pandemic response, including during a time when he had constantly to reword everything coming from Atlas and Trump. He's an immunologist, also trying to pinch hit as a virologist and epidemiologist, so I try to cut him some slack. Redfield, Birx, and now Wolensky, deserve a lot of the flack directed at Fauci. But that level of distinction doesn't make for good political cartoons, so I get it.
May 12, 20214 yr Filed under "Vaccines Aren't That Effective" Cue the response, "bUt 99.75 iZn'T 100!!!1!" The Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday released a study showing that 99.75% of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 between Jan. 1 and April 13 were not fully vaccinated, according to data provided to Axios https://www.axios.com/study-hospitalized-coronavirus-patients-unvaccinated-7ed34f63-fd1d-437c-b4b7-0c1dd3600a15.html

Agreed. There's also an element of "knowing your audience" as well. He's not a politician, so he probably didn't expect an off-hand comment about two masks being better than one, being run with and used as a political football like it was. In any case, it's obvious that most of the criticisms leveled at him generally come from a place of political loyalty and/or distrust of authority. No different than a doctor telling you to lose weight, while you curse his name as you walk out of the office. The advice is medically sound, but not well received by some people because "This is America! You can't tell me what to do!"

I still remember getting pissed that schmoopie was asking me to get the mail on a Saturday and I wanted to wait until Monday so any virus on the mail could die off. Then I'd bring the mail to the front step and lysol the s*** out of it. I turned my garage into a clean room. Groceries that were non perishable would sit in there for a few days. I would then strip in there, sanitize my hands, put on a set of boxers and jump straight into the shower. I was clean shaven for the first time in over a decade. Was worried that the hair on my face would prevent my N95 from having a proper seal on my face. Those first two months for us everything was in overdrive on the side of caution.

I can't stand these morons that don't understand that scientific discovery involves a lot of guesswork until you can study things enough to figure out how they actually work. They're like "HA! So scientists DON'T know everything and CAN'T predict the future, stupid!"

The advice is medically sound, but not well received by some people because "This is America! You can't tell me what to do!" the trust/distrust of authority thing is 100% linked to political loyalty. there are ballot initiatives in PA that would remove much of the emergency declaration authority from the Governor to the Legislature, and I expect it to pass because voters are morons. the only reason it's on the ballot is because Republicans want it there, and because they believe Republicans will maintain control of the legislature for the foreseeable future due to gerrymandering and population distribution. but yeah, let's remove something that is clearly a role for the executive branch and put it in the hands of an increasingly radical and unhinged group of legislators who believe the election was stolen and masks are part of some liberal conspiracy to enslave the masses. all because you don't like the fact that we have a Democrat governor who was perhaps cautious to a fault on COVID-19. brilliant.

May 12, 20214 yr My daughter goes for her 2nd Pfizer dose today. She was sore, fatigued and knocked out for the 1st one for a day, so I hope this one goes better. She was very very hesitant. Didn't consent to the J&J back in March which was before the pause. I'm over a week out from my 2nd dose and only had a sore arm from both. Not sure what the 27 year old will do, but figure I have all summer to work on him.
