Oh ok. Does he deserve any blame?

Blame for creating vaccines? I'm not sure what you are asking.

If you mean the total response, I'd say I disagreed with a lot of his decisions, but I'm not sure it would have made much a difference. People are idiots and have proven it royally during this pandemic.

But as far as the vaccine, he did absolute nothing that warrants "credit". The really smart people in lab coats deserve all the credit, there is none left for politicians as far as developing a vaccine.

Trump said from the beginning that COVID-19 was a media creation. If that’s true, why would you need a life-saving vaccine?

Democrats and the media said from the beginning that the vaccine was folly and years away, at best.  Now it's the be all end all.

Because Democrats refuse to give him any, and fought him every step of the way in getting the vaccines pushed through

Nobody "fought him every step of the way"

They were skeptical that a president who hawked hydroxychloroquine, talked about injecting disinfectant, and using UV light to combat Covid might try to market a vaccine that wasn't effective.

Every comment democrats made that Republicans now bandy about was couched in skepticism that Trump himself earned, but always with the qualification that they would follow the science on them.

Biden got vaccinated as soon as he could. And he did so very publicly to help encourage confidence in the vaccines.

At some point we have to stop worrying about case numbers and focus only on deaths and hospitalizations which unless I am wrong are way down in our area and other highly vaccinated places, cases are never going to be zero. We should not have restrictions on us because of unvaxxed fools

Right, the vaccine was years away and that’s why we needed to wear masks.  How did y’all do on that??

I've been watching Israel. They've been going up. It's too early to tell if the ratio of cases to hospitalizations and deaths is better than earlier waves, but it seems promising so far.

Went on one in Lake Tahoe last month. I’d never been on one before. I wasted the first half of my life

I prefer a wave runner. Lots of fun too. Rode one in Florida, once. Though Tahoe is a lot nicer.

I’ve been watching 100 ft Wave on HBO Max. I’m thinking about driving mine to Portugal and taking up big wave surfing.

Give Trump credit for the vaccine? He's a fu**ing moron. How dare anyone suggest giving him credit for a vaccine or any other medical/scientific discovery.

Come on, we all don't like Trump but let's at least try to be objective about this... you really don't think the guy who recited "person woman man camera tv" can't also provide some good insight on how to deliver strands of mRNA encased in PEGylated lipid nanoparticles to your cells so that they can manufacture the spike protein to induce an immune response? Your TDS is getting outta control, Paul.

The variants will keep coming as long as the unvaccinated remain that way. The only way to stop the variants is to get vaccinated.

The lambda variant was first identified in Peru in August 2020, according to the World Health Organization.

Epsilon variant, also known as CAL.20C and referring to two PANGO lineages B.1.427 and B.1.429, is one of the variants of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. It was first detected in California, USA in July 2020.

The variants you mentioned that are resisting the vaccines already preceded the vaccines. Can't really blame the unvaccinated for those. Maybe some future ones, but not those. But since those already exist, they remain a threat until further advances are made.

PFIZER AND BIONTECH ANNOUNCE AN AGREEMENT WITH U.S. GOVERNMENT FOR UP TO 600 MILLION DOSES OF MRNA-BASED VACCINE CANDIDATE AGAINST SARS-COV-2

July 22, 2020

NEW YORK & MAINZ, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) and BioNTech SE (Nasdaq: BNTX) today announced the execution of an agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Defense to meet the U.S. government’s Operation Warp Speed program goal to begin delivering 300 million doses of a vaccine for COVID-19 in 2021. Under the agreement, the U.S. government will receive 100 million doses of BNT162, the COVID-19 vaccine candidate jointly developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, after Pfizer successfully manufactures and obtains approval or emergency use authorization from U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Are you under the impression that this proves him wrong? Pfizer didn't take any funding from the US government. The US agreeing to buy the product once it's made is completely different.
