It's easy to be an executive when things are going well. How leaders respond to crises is what defines them. Same is true for Trump, DeSantis, and Biden.

My concern with the Republican base is that they actually believe both Trump and DeSantis are responding in the right way as it relates to COVID. The left on the other hand has been very critical of Biden's handling of Afghanistan. 

While some here scoff at it, my personal politics lean right. I'd be much more comfortable with a smaller government, and I'd like to see real reform in these institutions that have shown not to be up to the task in the 21st century - and that will require some serious rethinking of our regulatory practices. It's clear that regulatory capture is a bigger problem than we even thought, and if we do not reform these institutions I firmly believe it will be a contributing factor to our downfall. 

But even though that's where my preferences lie, I cannot in good conscious support the same candidates that so many on the right seem to want. It's very sad, but hard to deny that the left does a better job at holding their leadership accountable, where those on the right see this as a team sport and find it very difficult to criticize their own.

They made up or misreported some stats for sure, but there are still hundreds of hospitlizations because of this on record.  Safe to assume 5 to 10 times more than just suffered in privacy.
