Not this time, but I think they asked the first time I signed up on the PSU health portal. Since I work in public schools, I fall into that "high-risk" or "frontline worker" category. From what I remember from signing, up, though, there wasn't much to prevent you from just saying you have a scenario that would validate your getting vaxxed early. I just hit my 6-month mark the other day, and the earliest I could schedule was 3 weeks from now. People definitely want the boosters!

October 1, 20214 yr I don't think they require any sort of proof of the details that make you "high-risk" to schedule a booster shot, other than they'll take your word for it.

They don't. I've had the Pfizer, Moderna, J&J and 3 Pfizer boosters already and I'm not high risk. I just want to give those within a 5 sqmi radius of me 5g reception.

October 1, 20214 yr It's guys like Joe Rogan who are a danger to the country. Joe Rogan Thinks Biden Faked His COVID-19 Booster Shot on Live TV https://www.yahoo.com/news/joe-rogan-thinks-biden-faked-171338577.html Joe Rogan’s streak of terrible COVID-19 takes continued this week when he baselessly suggested the White House faked President Joe Biden’s booster shot on live TV out of fear that he could have dropped dead in the moment. After Biden took questions from reporters while received his third dose of the Pfizer jab earlier this week, Rogan used his massively popular Spotify podcast to wonder aloud if it was a "real booster.” When his guest, former CIA officer Mike Baker agreed, suggesting that it was merely "performance art,” Rogan dug deeper into his latest conspiracy theory. "I don’t think they would take the chance,” the host said. "I think if they were going to give him a booster shot, the last thing they would do is give it to him live on television. What if he dies? What if he blacks out? What if he gets it and faints? Because people have had very bad reactions, like in the moment, for whatever reason.”
October 1, 20214 yr The Anti-Vaxx Movement Is Taking Over the Republican Party https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/anti-vaxx-movement-taking-over-140257579.html Peter Wade Thu, September 30, 2021, 10:02 AM Virus Outbreak US - Credit: AP The anti-vaccine rhetoric pushed by Republican politicians is working. According to a new AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll, approximately six in 10 Republicans say they disapprove of President Biden’s Covid-19 vaccine mandates that require most workers to be vaccinated or submit to regular testing. The poll, released Thursday, found that a very narrow majority of Americans, 51 percent, approve of Biden’s plan while 34 percent of respondents said they disapprove. Fourteen percent had no opinion. Democrats, on the other hand, overwhelmingly favor Biden’s vaccine requirements, with three-quarters of them approving. Overall, approximately two-thirds of Americans said they are at least somewhat confident that the Covid-19 vaccines provide protection against infection. Many Republican politicians also oppose vaccine mandates, even officials who are themselves vaccinated, like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has held events where he invited anti-vaxx activists to speak and stood by while they spread blatant lies about the vaccine. "I don’t believe the federal government should have a say in me having to get the vaccine or lose my job or get tested,” an unvaccinated firefighter and Republican Emilio Rodriguez told the AP. But for Democrats like Sarah Carver, the decision was relatively simple: "I believe Dr. Fauci,” she told the AP.

October 2, 20214 yr Portugal: the world’s vaccination flagbearer https://www.portugalresident.com/portugal-the-worlds-vaccination-flagbearer/ Quote Putting a small selection of vaccine-resisters (around 3% of the population) and children under 12 to one side, the 85% figure is considered the maximum amount possible. Portugal is forming into a real-world answer to a worldwide hypothetical question: how effective is the vaccine against Covid-19? Most other nations argue a rise in cases, hospitalizations and deaths are due to a semi-vaccinated population. In Portugal, however, there are no places left to hide and the initial signs are promising. The death rate is currently nine times below the United States average and half that of the European Union. Death rate 9 times lower than the US. The US is sucking at COVID because of selfish a-holes.
October 2, 20214 yr https://www.nytimes.com/2021/10/01/us/us-covid-deaths-700k.html Quote The recent virus deaths are distinct from those in previous chapters of the pandemic, an analysis by The New York Times shows. People who died in the last three and a half months were concentrated in the South, a region that has lagged in vaccinations; many of the deaths were reported in Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana and Arkansas. And those who died were younger: In August, every age group under 55 had its highest death toll of the pandemic. Quote Harold Proctor, the coroner in Floyd County, Ga., said his office was handling twice the number of deaths compared with this time last year. At this point in the pandemic, he said, some families are so accustomed to hearing and reading about Covid-19 that they have a sense that deaths from the virus are commonplace. "It does seem like they have more accepted that people will die of Covid now,” Mr. Proctor said. Rather than take a vaccine that billions around the world have taken, and have proven to be safe and effective, we'll just accept COVID deaths to own the libs.

It's not Trump - you forget that he was heavily pushing vaccine development and supporting vaccines. One of the biggest factors in the push back is that this crisis is perceived as a means for exercise of more government control over our lives and restriction of our freedoms. People do not trust the government or Big Pharm nor the data regarding infection rates, recovery, and vaccine reaction. There is also a lack of trust regarding outright dismissal of the efficacy of cheap, readily available drugs like Ivermectin (used quite effectively in parts of India) and HCQ while pushing for newly developed meds that of course will be patented and very expensive. As for the accuracy of the data we are being given, here's a doctor's take:
