No Springer, Joe, or Reed tonight.

Team is even worse than last game, by a lot. Nice to see Queen play. Looking forward to all of them on the court at some point, with the addition of petrusev as well.

Think it can be a good summer league team. But they arent putting their best players out there on the same night so far.

Still old, still injury prone, still unathletic and still little bench.  Yeah, 2nd round exit.

Not a very good group, like usual I expect most of those guys to remain where they are or go elsewhere. I don't care how well LeBron is still playing he will be 39 and looking to play with his kid the following season.

One season of Embiid, LeBron, Harden, and Maxey is ok with me.

We all know that ain't happening. I don't even think 2 out of those 4 will make it through this season.

PJ Tucker will be the difference maker we need.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers are getting Daryl Morey’s band back together. Morey, who used to be the Houston Rockets’ general manager and is now the president of basketball operations in Philly, had already acquired erstwhile Houston star James Harden at last season’s trade deadline.

Now, he’s signed ex-Rockets P.J. Tucker and Danuel House with the mid-level and bi-annual exceptions, respectively. He also traded for former Houston draft pick De’Anthony Melton, sending the likely-out-for-the-season Danny Green and a first-round pick to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for his services.

The moves weren’t just for old times’ sake. Joel Embiid specifically shouted out Tucker as the type of tough player the Sixers have needed — and lacked — over the last several seasons, so Morey went out and got him.

Both he and House know how to play with Harden, and they and Melton will give coach Doc Rivers wing defense options aside from Matisse Thybulle, who is too much of an offensive liability to be on the court in certain situations. Among the 375 players who played at least 500 minutes last season, Tucker ranked inside the top 15 in Bball-Index’s Matchup Difficulty metric, while both House and Melton ranked inside the top 100.

they needed wings, toughness, & depth....and they added it with these acquisitions. there's certainly more work to be done but this is a good start.

Tucker is a decent depth pick up but damn... He is 37 and defense is the first to go usually and 6ers luck is the wheels finally fall off

well, he's replacing old-a** (and injured) danny green....and some of the minutes milsap played last year. i'd consider that an upgrade.

i'd still like to see them do something with shake/kork/thybulle...and especially tobi...but it takes 2 teams to make a deal.

What Tucker hopefully is, is mean. This team was soft.

Still think Harris gets dealt either at the deadline but more likely next offseason. He’s more valuable as an expiring contract next offseason

i also don’t think tucker is going to be as challenging to move in year 3 as people think. We just traded danny green with a torn acl who might never be the same or might not play this year (i know what he said but there’s a chance he heals slowly at 35). He was making $10 mil. on tucker, he also didn’t really begin to play in the nba until 2012-13 in Phoenix with the suns at 27. He spent 5 years prior playing overseas. He’s got less nba miles on his body than a normal 37 year old. Plus the last couple years outside of his time with the bucks he’s largely been the same player. (Still wouldn’t have given him 3 years I’d have gone elsewhere with that money)

Yeah but at 37 those miles still catch up to you quicker. Maybe he will be good here and there but, it's still not to be ignored he is old as F as an undersized power forward.

He really should only get 23-27 mins a night out of him. For the most part danny was fine around 20-23 mins. The sixers forcing him to have to play 30-35 was the issue. If he gives you what Danny was giving you i think you are fine. Frankly he’s still a better defender at 37 than danny was prior to his injury. Danny i think is a better shooter but tucker is fine when he just sits in the corner. The third year was always going to be the hope to hell he’s not shot but i think can be tradable like they did with green. I think he’s likely fine this upcoming year. Next year and the year after is more questionable. Really the sixers just need him to be what he is for 2 years. That said tucker doesn’t rely heavily on his athleticism and he’s basically been old for 3 years now and does what he does.

Fair points, we shall see how he does. I know I can't do sheet at my age and I never played in the NBA 🤣 😛

i'm guessing that he works out a little more often than you do and keeps himself in a little better shape....being that he's a professional athlete and all.

If the rockets are turning down a first round pick for Eric Gordon at this stage of his career they are fing morons.

The rockets really should just hold out til the deadline where someone might get desperate
