Players have to hit buckets at some point. We always hear it's a players league and Embiid had two points this half and shot 3 3 pointers.

Embiid has the killer instinct when team is up and he goes for the MVP but damn this dude sulks around so much.

Embiid is a problem obviously. His 2019-20 numbers were actually better cause he had the 4 months off to heal up and was actually healthy for once in the postseason. Granted he got destroyed by the Celtics in 4 games.

But let’s not pretend the same thing we’ve just talked about with doc weren’t the same exact things that got him fired from the clippers or what he’s been ridiculed for a decade with. this has been the same pattern with doc since 2013. You don’t have your teams blow 9 series when up 2-0, 3-2 or 3-1. You don’t have a 6-10 record in game 7s and really losing each of the last 5. Heck he’s 3-8 in his last 11 game 7s. He’s very much a representation of the sixers. He once won a title but hasn’t been out of the second round in over a decade. Players didn’t show up but he is also not the coach that’s gonna get you over the top with his coaching. Celtics were clearly the better talented team. Doc gives you nothing to make up any of that difference.

Has Glenn been fired yet?

Harden didn't show up for a big game.... What a shocker

Hopefully early in the day tomorrow.

Hopefully we've seen the last of Glenn, Harden, and Harris. I know he's not a big time player for us, but please no more De'Anthony Melton. Good lawd that guy sucks at basketball. Seeing him out there with the season on the line throwing up bricks, and being an absolute turnstile on defense, was just salt in the wounds.

Why Memphis got rid of him. He sucked in the playoffs.

Did playoff tucker save the day yet?

He helped to be sure. Couldn’t compensate for Doc, Hardin, Embiid and the rest of the team.

Yeesh.

Doc in his infinite wisdom thought De'Anthony Melton who can't hit the side of a barn with a basketball and can't defend a rec league player was a better option with the season on the line.

LMAO

I hate to say it, but as good as Embiid is, get rid of him. He doesn’t have the toughness and determination when it matters most, and even Tucker, God love him, couldn’t bring it out in him. He’s gotta be worth a lot, get everything that you can for him.

Tbh this whole thing stems back to the beginning of the end which was the firing and handling of Sam hinkie. I’ve said this on here for years you do not make the number of mistakes the 76ers have over the course of time and win titles. Most of the teams are winning titles or at least getting to the Eastern conference finals or the finals don’t make the massive amount of mistakes the 76ers have.

We can start with the more recent in morey just waiting out for James Harden in the Simmons deal. who was completely done being anywhere close to the type of player he was in Houston and was really never a reliable player in big close out games deeper in the playoffs. They would’ve been much better off just accepting Halliburton and Buddy Hield than James Harden.

that said previous regimes of colangelo, brand/brown left behind a crap show and lack of good assets by the time they were done. They traded for butler only to let him walk ( and i can tell you from a former coach on the sixers they never offered him a 5th year. Said it then and I’ll say it again. They never did cause they thought he wouldn’t hold up and the team would implode with his relationship with Ben and brown). They drafted fultz, okafor and Simmons who ultimately never materialized into the players they thought. They dealt away bridges for a first and smith who never even played. They spent the last of their big money cap space on a center that was declining in horford. Then wound up giving up a first round pick to acquire Danny green in exchange then ultimately wound up with melton from it all. Wasted cap space. They gave tobias Harris a near max and no one wanted to touch that contract until maybe this offseason as an expiring contract.

This doesn’t even include the disaster burner gate or ownership bowing down to the nba who forced colangelo on them.

from the time hinkie got fired the FO management decisions, players and ownership has basically been a train wreck that had just enough talent in embiid and the team to get them past the first round.

the only moves the sixers have really hit on during the process was the original butler trade, embiid, maxey and signing pj tucker (who did what he was brought in to do, i don’t remotely blame him)

I make jokes but, you are right it wasn't even close to being Tuckers fault at all. He just was never going to be enough or be able to play hero. Great role player though

Training camp just a couple months away...

Can’t wait to see Summer League!!

Niang.... Lmao it looked like I grabbed him... No you did grab him moron

People were angry about that signing. I had less of an issue with it. He is what he is. There’s a lot of 10 mil a year players that will give you far less in playoff time and in terms of toughness than tucker. He gave you exactly what you expected him to and I’m guessing teams would love to have him on their squad. This falls on other players, coaches and front office.

The Sixers sit where they do right now for many reasons. Morey just ultimately wanting to have James Harden and not opening his mind to younger guys for Ben Simmons. Another is the amount of garbage left behind by Colangelo, brand and brown by the time morey got to the Sixers. It is really hard to make a team capable of beating a Boston Celtics or Golden State Warriors and all these other teams when you’re stuck with Tobias Harris contract and given an awful Al Horford contract. You had to give up a first round pick just to get out of horford contracr. all you have to show for it now is melton (horford for green and a first then green for melton). And you weren’t gonna get much better than that because of how horrible Al Horford was with the Sixers and his contract put the sixers in a dire situation.

again, this all comes down to good owners with good stable front offices tend to have more success than bad ownership that has numerous issues and instability with their front offices.

This is the main issue, Kobe Bryant said it awhile back that super stars don't want to play for bad owners

Joshua Harris is an awful owner. He’s proven that time and time again. The disasters of burner gate, allowing the nba to force colangelo on the team, letting brown and brand be the front office decision makers after the raptors series and then this year purposefully getting under the luxury tax to make $16 mil instead of making moves knowing the team wasn’t good enough.

I felt this for a while. I hope the city of Philadelphia does not give him a new stadium. Because I think Joshua Harris wants to build a new stadium so that he can ultimately sell the team as the end of the process era closes and he stands to make more money as they have their own place but they are left in ruins due to his ownership decisions. At this point I hope they tell him to F off and he gets frustrated and just sells the team.

it's one of  the reasons why you dont tank, you have to attract difference makers, if you dont attract difference makers regardless of who you draft you not going to win.

The Process is over, and no- it could NOT be trusted. They told us all these miserable year to trust a process that never could be trusted. Embiid is a regular season player, but he is NOT a playoff player. Draymond Green said it best- "The playoffs are not for everybody." Embiid is NOT a playoff player. Holds the ball for 6 seconds thinking about his "move", then as soon as he puts the ball on the floor, a double team steals the ball, and they go get a fast break bucket. THAT is Embiid in the playoffs. Harden? Sucks- period. Up and down like a bi- polar yo yo. As for GLENNY BOY??? I never wanted him as a coach. As someone here already posted- I want to see the headlines "GLEN IS FIRED" tomorrow- but I want it TONIGHT. I hate to say this- the 76ers can't win a title with Embiid. Our GM is suspect, our coach sucks and our players are playoff choke artists. I'm embarrassed to be a 76er fan. I was BORN in Philly, so I can't divorce them. Or can I?

That’s BS. The warriors were bad when they got klay and Steph (Barnes on top 10) They didn’t full in tank but they weren’t very good either outside of one year where they upset the mavs. They picked inside the lottery from 2006-2012 all but one year. They did their heavy working through drafting to eventually attract KD.

The spurs when they got Tim Duncan decided to just tank that year when they weren’t very good. it ultimately changed their entire franchise and then they hit on Parker and ginobili.

Unless you are the lakers, heat, Boston, clippers (have Jerry west who was a genius) and now warriors it’s much harder to attract stars without other stars. Only way the sixers were gonna get a mvp or star caliber player was drafting. Hence why they didn’t have one from AI til embiid. Even Boston had to do that with Tatum and brown cause guys like AD and others didn’t want to go to Boston.

for years the sixers were basically stuck in purgatory where only broken down former stars like Elton brand wanted to go to the sixers. It’s why they basically were a fringe playoff team after they dealt AI. No stars are opting to come to Philly unless we already have another big time star in place which is far more likely through the draft and being bad

As expected. 2nd round losers again.

Adam Silver ruined the 76ers when he demanded the ownership bend the knee...and they did. 76ers' ownership = Cowardice.

This team is what they've been since just after the 83 season...also rans. Nothing ever changes.

Top FA's don't ever want to come here, which means superstar laden teams are always from elsewhere.

The FO doesn't prioritize players who can consistently shoot under pressure. They fail every time. Always looking for someone else to take over in the biggest moments.

Hinkie had it right. Build a 3rd rate roster that can't help but tank for 10 years straight if you have to in order to build a super team through the draft. It's your only hope if you're in Philadelphia where ZERO top FA's are ever coming. Remember when Lebron and KD were fighting to get here? Me neither. How about the year before that when the splash brothers were trying to get here? Nope didn't think so. Remember when Kobe and Shaq were begging to come to Join AI? Nah, me neither.

At the end of the day, the 76ers will always be somewhere between a crap team to a can't-get-it-done playoff also ran. That's who they have been for 40 years, and NOTHING will be changing any time soon. Josh Harris is a coward who should've knocked Silver's teeth out when he demanded the team dismantle the process, but instead, he got scared, kissed the ring, and did exactly what he was told to do. I like the 76ers but I feel bad for the die-hard fans. If they missed '83, they're going to their graves without another Championship.

Same old 76ers.
