tobi, shake, & mattise were all at shootaround & are probable for tonight's game. anything that gets mathias, joe,  & reed off the court will be an improvement.

I actually want to see how Joe does with some real players on the floor.  His shot looks pure.  He needs 15lbs and much better defense though.

Good Lord. No one is against trading Ben for another star player. People are against paying ANY price for ANY star player. Trading Ben, Thybulle, Maxey and multiple first round picks and swaps would have been idiotic. The Nets massively overpaid and will regret this for a decade.

You can't just pay any price. That's how you become Billy King.

I think the Nets would regret it if they don’t win a title. If they do hard to say. However they are going to be really bad in 2025 with no real help for 3 years after that.

that's the problem its about being cheap, you are not going win championships by being cheap with players, you want a star player it will cost you, you pay for it, if you are going to cheap might as well just trade the whole roster because it's going to be one and done with this roster. how many one and done's is going to take for anyone to get it or you dont care at all?

There is a difference between paying for it and mortgaging the future for a decade.

I mean seriously...you can't watch this stuff over and over and not realize he's not changing on offense.

A glitch in the matrix?

there's other problem is embiid, you really think he has patience to wait for morey to get his head of his butt to get a star?

I don't think teams really care anymore, strike while you can to make a run at a title for a year or 2 then blow it all up again. Nets see a small window and are taking it. Most teams do that these days you have too, these players are not loyal to one team hardly anymore.

Maxey starting

The only problem with the nets thinking like that is not only do you get a small window you just screwed yourself for the next decade on top of that small window. The only way I see the Nets winning that deal is if they win a title. If they don’t win a title they are going to look back at that and say wow that was not worth it.
once harden declines and Kyrie becomes more of a pain in the ass they’re not winning anything for potentially decade with how far they set themselves back. And even when they find out it is over you are not going to be able to trade those guys get any valuable assets to help build the next era of your team. You’re just gonna be really bad with next to no assets.

I thought what the Rockets did was genius and everything they got in that trade. They have so many assets to rebuild that roster. The nets are not gonna have that luxury when this is over. I look at it as you better win a title because not being good for potentially a decade or longer it’s not worth it just to be a title contender.

Update: Simmons still sucks

Maxey however does not

Maxey is deferring and being tentative being out with all starters, maybe out of respect.  But he should go to town on offense.  We need him.

Maxey!

Sam Cassell definitely looks like an awesome player development coach. You always see him talking to the guys when they are subbed out.

Can’t believe Shake’s shot went in.  That looked awful.

Great quarter from Maxey.

70 point half again..  damn.

4 points at half time. The trade rumors surely light a fire under him.

ben and joel have 9 pts. combined at half and the team has 73 pts.  i'll take it.

Heat playing 8 guys after going into OT 48 hours ago, and only playing 8 guys then is showing.

Thybulle is trash

I thought he has been extremely active on the defensive end.

I think people need to understand he was always going to have a limited ceiling coming into the NBA. He was at Washington for four years and 22 when he entered the league . His offensive game was never great. He was always going to be a good defender and you hoped that maybe with time he might become a decent 3-D guy.

40% from 3

Joe is the total opposite, all 3 pointers.

I Joe!
