Imagine harden trying to run a 7 sec offense another year older. I also don't see Embiid staying this healthy for another season.

It’s honestly why fit and style of play wise d’antoni makes little sense. Embiid definitely isn’t staying healthy if we run that style nor does it fit the personnel we have besides maxey. So if they hire d’antoni that system is going to fail or he’d have to completely change his philosophy. Which frankly if he’s changing that then why would you want him as your coach. Cause that’s not what his bread and butter is.

Tyrese Maxey just might be the second best player on this team right now… which is good for his future, but not good if you’re trying to contend right now. In another year or two I think his game will be at the level of a second best player on a championship team, but that’s a big ask of a second year kid who’s only 21.

Harden needs to be better, period. And Harris needs to quit shriveling in important games. You can’t get 52 points from Maxey and Embiid, and just 21 between Harden and Harris.

If Danny Green hadn’t had an uncharacteristically good scoring night, that game would have been ugly.

The problem with hammies is they may never fully heal. This is now an issue that goes back over  year now with a full off season to recover from.

His only route is to radically change his body and call CP3/LeBron on how were they able to extend their career

I think he is doing that by becoming more of a distributor at pg

hes not though. Its not as though he has boosted his assist numbers to new highs with the team.

harden has been more of a distributor since leaving houston...averaging 10+ assists per game & taking fewer shots...about 6-7 fewer shots per game compared to his last full season in houston.

Harden had a season over 11 assists per game in Houston. His final season in Houston he average 10.4. First year with the nets he averaged 10.9. This season with the nets 10.2, and so far with the 6ers, 10.3. Hes basically right exactly where he has been with assist numbers for the past 3 years, including a year with the Rockets. The only thing thats changed is he is losing his scoring ability, and has decreased shot attempts over the same time frame from 16 per game to 13. And his FG% went from 47% to 41, to 40% with us.

Same assist numbers. A few less shots at a much worse shooting percentage.

He has been passing up open shots for himself a lot too. That doesn't help the team when he is giving up open shots that he should be making to give it to freaking Thybulle . If we wanted someone to just pass the effing ball we might as well have just kept Ben.

harden averaged 7.5 assists per game in his last full season in houston...and took 22.3 shots per game.  he's over 10 assists per game & taking around 15 shots per game this season.  it's really easy to look this stuff up.

Its not any different than his previous season in Brooklyn. Same assists per game. And this half season with Brooklyn. Still the same.

He has not re-made himself in philly. Its not as though he realized his hamstring isnt working this year and became this great pass first PG to affect the game in different ways. Nothing has changed about his game with us other than taking even less shots, and shooting a far worse percentage.

Also going back to the minutes thing he actually averages more here then he did for the nets. Just under a full minute more here. I would think we are in better position to let him rest here then with the nets but, yet he is playing more here.

i never said he did. i said he's been more of a distributor since leaving houston...because he has.

I think about how many more assists he would have if we had better shooters i guess. Raw stats can be misleading just look at jokers assists…

if they max out harden, i'm expecting a major roster rebuild with them bringing in catch & shoot guys and lob finishers in place of the shakes, korks, etc.

some people think he has. Have seen it in other 6ers discussions. Gotta keep is straight.

I think they can still use that other big scorer. Someone different than Harden, not washed up but who can do that kind of thing. Would look to trade Tobi for those kinds of guys to fill out the rest of the lineup though.

Could have started that process off with the Simmons trade but everyone else wanted the star. Could have taken the Kings deal then too. But nope...

But its still possible to do it that way. Harden in a sign and trade for Beal should work, and then Tobi for the pieces that fit.

Hey im fine if they ship off kork and even shake. Hell even tobias

i'm thinking they'll try to move tobi & will most likely have to include thybulle to get a team to take him.

That's good.  Thybulle is just about at the end of his rope here anyway.

You can find a 3 and D guy who is slightly worse defensively than Thybulle but 3 times better on offense.

I agree. But who can we get?

No idea.

My probably ideal while trying to be somewhat realistic idea is trade Harris for Julius Randle. I think he provides that scoring and shot creating ability while also being an absolute perfect fit with Embiid who can stretch the floor well. AND play D.

I believe you may be able to get him because NY was up and coming, committed big money to him and added some guards and somehow got worse. They got a washed Kemba, old D Rose, Fournier.... they can use Thybulle's D on that team.

A deal that works on the trade machine would be something like

Harris and Thybulle for Randle and Burks.

I also have a hunch that quietly a team may be able to snag one of LeBron, Donovan Mitchell, or Jimmy Butler this year. But those pie in the sky scenarios would more likely involved a Harden sign and trade. Not a Harris trade.

Rumors are Randle is pulling a Harden by playing like sheet to get off the team. I'm not against Randle, actually like him but would suck to get another guy with that attitude when things don't go his way.

We need a miracle.  We need to win enough games but not too many games and hope for the right teams to lose so we can play the Bulls and potentially avoid Toronto or Nets.

I think things would go just fine here with Randle and Embiid, Maxey, and whatever you can get for Harden.
