Atlanta’s D is so pathetic. The Heat are getting easy a** buckets all series. Let’s see them score on us like that. Atlanta needs Clint back yesterday.

Redick is a great play by play announcer.

Butler down. Hope he is ok.

Has to be a rib, right?

I haven’t seen Young this timid before.

The Heat have not impressed me at all. Atlanta is terrible. If we can keep Duncan and Herro to only 1-2 hot shooting games for the series, I think we can take them in 7.

Who on the Heat can guard Maxey? And Butler can’t make 1/2 of his points in the paint, like he is now, because of Embiid.

In fairness the hawks are 20-3 in their last 23 home games. And since Jan 1 they are 20-5. They are tough at home. Also are 28-14 since the middle of January(Jan 17th). So they are an 8 seed but they are playing better down the stretch than how they started the season 17-24

Atlantas defense is like Ben Simmons offense, especially without Capela. The 45 point game from Butler, he scored at least 15 points on easy layups/dunks that would not be available with Joel on the court.

I don’t think the heat are great team but the advantage they have in a series against the sixers is spolestra is a better coach than Doc. Id also add They have a deeper bench unit then us. So it would benefit the sixers if we got extra time off after this series to get our main guys rest.

That said the hawks have been playing good basketball much like last year when they got hot down the stretch. They are an 8 seed but they’ve played much better than an 8 seed for over 3.5 months. Their 28-14 record to finish was one of the better records in the eastern conference. Frankly if i were Miami i would’ve been pulling for cleveland who had struggled more down the stretch.

What's with Embid's thumb injury?  Woj is reporting its a concern and that he's getting an MRI when he gets back to Philly.

It's likely a UCL tear/ game keepers thumb.

It requires surgery or you have no grip strength. But he's not a football QB who has to grip a ball in that way. This was the Drew Brees injury. In basketball he will be able to play through it,  as he did last game.

He already said he will.

He will just have surgery in the offseason.  And with new surgical technique it heals in a matter of weeks. The " fear" word which has been tweeted is sensationalized journalism.

Last year Embiid wasn't MVP because he 'didn't play enough games so Jokic had to win it'. This year he plays enough games and leads the league in scoring yet 'he's not as good as Jokic because the advanced metrics say otherwise'.

Have you been watching this series? The playoff Hawks are really bad. They can shoot 3’s and that’s about it. Young can’t get passed Tucker who is a good defender but he isn’t Scottie Pippen. And without Capela, he has no floater or lob move. Also since they changed the rules, he doesn’t get calls similar to Harden. Their defense is really really bad, especially with Capela out. If they can somehow take Miami to 6, and we sweep today, that should give us nearly a week of rest while they might get 3 days. Now Chubby Hubby is out with a leg injury for Miami too, so it’s something to keep an eye on. And I don’t see anyone on their team being able to stay in front of Maxey. I think we win that series in 7.

Wow they are saying it’s Lowry’s hammy now. Maybe that series can go 7?

Saw that. Miami better win game 4 or they are in BIG trouble.

Apparently Butler doesn’t like to play with Dipo so it should be interesting if he fills in.

I don't need to justify anything. Jokic did more for his team with less talent around him and  that really isn't a debate.

I'm glad you finally spelled his name right though.

The debate is Jokic had a historic season, not his surrounding cast.  Nonetheless, Embiid carried the Sixers most of the year and was dominant start to finish.  Jokic is a modern day Tim Duncan, he plays boring but effective basketball.

Again atlanta coming into the playoffs as one of the better teams in the eastern conference for over 3 months. Similar to last year. So when you say they are a crappy 8 seed, they’ve had a top 6 record in the east for over 3 months dating back to Jan 17th. The heat were 26-13 over that time. The bucks were 24-13 over that time. The sixers were 26-14 over that time. The hawks were 28-14. They were playing at the same consistency as three of the top four teams in the Eastern conference over a 3 month period of time to finish the season. SO It was not going to be as easy as a normal 8 seed as they had playoff experience a year ago and finally started playing like they did for long stretches last year. that’s been my point. It’s not a typical 8 seed with how they were playing coming into the postseason. Their bad start put them where they are. Their finish to the season helped them

Yes they take a lot of threes that isn’t by accident. Also young won  game 3 on a floater where he was able to get to the paint. Also game 2, young was 2-10 from 3. Meaning inside the 3 point line he was 8-10. 80% is pretty good. Meaning they had massive issues trying to guard him when he didn’t just settle for threes. We said the same thing you have last year in that sixers series. atlanta when they got down 2-1 and were really handled in games 2 and 3. And we said they aren’t really playing well. I’d actually say atlanta first 3 games vs Miami they’ve been better than first 3 games with the sixers last year. The sixers obliterated the hawks in games 2 and 3. They got worse over the first 3 games of the series against the sixers. This series they seem to be getting a little better each game. That said i don’t see them winning the series unless Miami just completely collapses (which without Lowry maybe it happens)

Second they haven’t been horribly bad outside of game 1, they just aren’t a true contender so your expectations for them are too high. That’s what they look like.  I would argue with you that they have kept 2 of the 3 games within reach against a team who is considered a NBA finals contender and a one seed. Miami with their coach and the team that they have they are going to make every series look ugly. When/if the Sixers play Miami, it’s going to be an ugly series.

Third just because they were good the last 3.5 months does not mean they are better than Miami. Miami is a better coach team, has better talent. So obviously they aren’t going to look like world beaters. They are an underdog with many disadvantages in this series yet down 2-1. it easily could’ve been up 2-1 if not for Jimmy butler going off in game two especially the last 3 mins saving miami

Fourth there’s plenty of other teams playing worse than atlanta.  a team that’s playing bad right now,  the Denver Nuggets. They’ve been far worse. The hawks are playing better than the nuggets especially the last 2 games. I would argue the Utah jazz have been bad in that series considering the fact Luka Doncic has been out, they’re still down 2-1 and really were fortunate to win game 1. Brunson is averaging 32 points in that series. I like Brunson but he’s not some superstar player that should be averaging 32 in a playoff series especially without luka out there. I’d also say atlanta is playing better than the raptors. Granted raptors have had some injuries but they’ve been worse than atlanta. Game 1 the hawks were bad. Really bad. But game 2 on the road they had a chance to win that game with 3 mins left until butler went bananas and on his own 7-0 run to win it. Which you can say they can’t guard Jimmy Butler but Jimmy Butler did something similar to the Toronto Raptors in game 7 a couple years ago and got us back to a tie game before kawhi hit his shot. and the raptors had Kawhi Leonard out there to guard him.

It would be pretty fitting if Atlanta takes out Miami. Let the Sixers avenge the ‘19 loss to Toronto in round 1, then get payback against Atlanta.

Then Boston in the ECF… would be a great storyline if the Sixers were able to beat each of the teams that have knocked them out of the playoffs during the Embiid era on their way to the finals.

Now let’s sweep the raptors today and get the guys some rest.

I’d still be shocked if atlanta won this series. I wouldn’t be surprised if it went 6 or 7 simply cause the hawks at home have played great for a while now. They are 21-3 in their past 24 home games. They are a much better team at home. However in their stretch where they went 28-14 to close out the year, they were 8-11 on the road. They just really struggle to win games on the road. The best road win they’ve had in the last 3 months is that Cleveland play in game. They lost road games to the pistons twice.

I asked a simple question, if you watched this playoff series and you write a novel. I’m not that invested. If you wanna send cliffs notes, I might engage. Otherwise, all good man.

I’d be surprised too but I really want the Sixers to beat those ****es.

No way the Hawks/Heat series isn’t done in 6.

Yeah I’ve watched it.  They are playing better in this series to start the first 3 games then they did against the Sixers last year. They got obliterated in games 2 and 3. Actually got worse from game 1 to game 3. This series they seem to be getting better with each consecutive game. Also young was 2-10 from 3 in game 2 but 8-10 inside the 3 point line. Game 3 he was 4-8 inside the 3 point line and 2-6 from 3. If Trae Young would actually start attacking inside the three-point line miami really doesn’t have an answer to him. He was horrific in game 1 as was the entire team. But since then he’s shooting 12-18 inside the 3 point line. That’s 67%. The problem is he’s settling on way too many 3s. And even this is a little skewed cause he got to the line 12 times in game 3. So if he starts to attack more he’s likely to be much better off as will atlanta.
