The previews were pretty sucky, one of the reasons I decided to go watch it was it had good reviews and I kept hearing how Emma Stone was going to win an Oscar for the role. Mat
Tonight's movie was The Beekeeper. If you picture a Jason Statham movie, The Beekeeper probably doesn't stray too far off that. Lots of action, lots of killing and a pretty simple plot. It was pretty entertaining and worth the watch. Next up is The Iron Claw

SPIDER-MAN
No One Will Save You: Good alien flick without dialogue. The main cast is one woman, but there isn't more than 5 words in the whole movie. There's Something Wrong With the Children: Started off strong, but the music and storyline fell hard the last quarter.

Mat
13 hours ago, Godfather said: Lmk how The Iron Claw is I enjoyed it. It's shot exceptionally well, they omitted some stuff and made some alterations but that's pretty standard for a screen play. Pacing wise it is probably a little on the slower side at times. I had heard the wrestling scenes were the best of any movie and I agree. They actually filmed complete matches and then cut them down. There were a couple of key things I thought they sped over, some probably due to time constraints and some so the ending would have a greater effect. Spoiler David's death happens completely off screen, Mike's suicide is a bit of a wait did that actually happen moment, Kerry's accident is mainly him riding but you don't see the accident, only the aftermath which is probably months to years later but I think it's just a build up to Kerry's death so it hits harder. It also shows how emotionless the parents were at times with their kids and particularly the father being obsessed with having the title regardless of how they get it. Zac Efron looks like he is juiced up early in the movie he is that jacked in the opening scenes. Soundtrack was pretty damn good and if you like 80's wrestling you're probably going to enjoy this. I used to watch a lot of the late 80's early 90's PPV's as a kid in the late 90's when I first got into wrestling, so this was definitely something where the subject was interesting to me.

dawkins4prez
Killers of the Flower Moon. Meh. In a lot of ways it's the same long, boring Scorcese gangster movie he always does, only dresses it up as cowboys and indians.

Spoiler I liked it, but it was like a Great Depression version of the Departed with Native Americans, except with a much more boring and silly ending. Leo = Matt Damon Bobby Deniro = Jack Nicholson I don’t feel like looking up or naming the other characters but it was such a similar, long term story of deceit, self preservation, and $$$
Agent23
My only issue with Iron Claw (same with Baby Driver) is that Lily James is too hot to just throw herself at these dudes who are putting in minimal effort at best.

Agent23
Saw bob Marley movie. Very weak. I’m not familiar with his life or story but seemed like they just picked a brief period of time and didn’t do much to make it interesting or compelling. then saw Lisa Frankenstein. It’s odd but quirky enough to make it watchable and hold my attention. Takes place in the late 80s I think and feels like something that could have been made in the 80s and become a popular cult film from that time
