I think this a fair line of thinking. Still drafted that high….and the fact is he did come off on passing downs. We’ll see. I’m just questioning the obvious here. Think Gannon was desperate for a NT to run his D off. So think that was the priority. You make good points that many have brought up. But there is also the very real possibility the 340 pounder just isn’t a pass rusher.

he weighs more than alot of pass rushers and he is as fast as a WR,why would you NOT use him as a pass rusher? Gotta play to a mans strengths or why take him?

AJ wouldn’t be here if the plan was move on from Hurts. QB1 made it happen. We really struck out on so sosooooo many other avenues this offseason.

AJ is here because he is a talented WR we don't need to bring along. We have enough young guys to bring along. he was a ready to go WR Hurts or no Hurts and when Hurts is gone he will still be here.So we have AJ on a 4 year and we have not signed Hurts to a 4 year? Or have I missed something?

Sounds great. We will be the best at twenty different defenses. Seems easy.

We can do that if we need to,which we may not need to,but we won't know that until we play some games

What I gather is that the D won't have a real identity. I think Gannon wants the flexibility to throw any alignment he wants based on personnel, opponent and field position.

What I said, but more concise.I tend to ramble, thanks for simplifying this

Probably lose the 2nd Weidl to Pitts(VP of player personnel) since we already fired his brother,so we have shake ups everywhere

Jerry Jeudy arrested for domestic violence. Reagor trade?

The context was he played the early downs and came off in passing situations. A traditional NT. Georgia D was stacked with talent like crazy. Like Stine was saying they rotated guys in. But it doesn’t really change what his role was for them. Now if they had no other options how good would he have been rushing the passer? That’s the question yet to be answered. Hard for me to believe they traded up to draft him that early over his pass rushing though. He’s athletic for a big guy. So not out of the realm of possibility. But we drafted a Nose….if you want to believe he has pass rushing upside…go for it. We’ll see….haven’t yet though for sure.

The narrative... basically what the Georgia staff was saying..  he absolutely could have played more snaps.  But for recruiting purposes  ( because we all know the colleges need to recruit and show that the young guys will get playing time.... especially with the new transfer rules) ... they decided to share the snaps.  Plus a lot of it was Georgia being ahead by a lot.

Might have to dig a bit deeper than NFL.com draft profile to find out all about these players.

Yeah...like hearing everything from the analysts.  My favorite local guy will be retiring...Ray Diddy.    Nobody mentioned the foot or bad snaps.   Was this the "observation from rookie camp'

Reddick, after we got Johnson last year. Then Dean, Kyron…..kept Avery last year….Ostman. Pretty solid investment overall.

Kyzir

Right...but the point is the investment wasn't out of the norm.   2 years ago they drafted the 3rd and 6th round LBs as well.

I’ve been talking about it all offseason. But Siri and the guys are being tight lipped about it. You know how Siri is about this stuff already. Reddick and Graham leaked we have the DE and OLB in their own separate room however. So it’s one of those worst kept secret situations.

Let me ask you... do you need the first sentence in this post?   You don't see why it's a little off putting?

Not sure I remember that under Billy Davis. Thought Cole was retired. Graham was the rush OLB under Davis/Chipper/your boy.

Trent Cole was here with Chip... but you probably were scouting college ball then, not watching Eagles

I can appreciate the thought. Reality seems to me like we are pursuing a very specific plan. Saw how Gannon wanted to run two high S early on but it failed. Probably because we were poor against the run. Gravedigger had a bad run grade last year. Cox a pretty down year and seemed like he didn’t always do his job and wanted to pass rush and get up field. So we moved up and took a massive NT to anchor against the run. Gives Gannon his flexibility. He can utilize his outside rushers and coverage over the top. Just my read from the tea leaves here.

Or he simply wants a 3-4 ...excuse me...5-2 defense

I think AJ is here 5 years?   4 years added on to this year?    I'm not sure?

That would be great for 2 reasons: 1) Get to see how Reagor does with Russel Wilson. 2) We would be rid of his blow-off attitude lol

Five Prime Time games this season. Most notable to me is Wentz and his Commanders <---(LMAO) come to Philly Week 10 for MNF.

I have a way too early prediction of 12 wins

14 wins.  No reason for any less with the schedule.

Heck, could go 15 - spllit w/ dullass, loss vs GB, no reason not to be in every game.

A little early bye, not counting the gnats as a real travelling road game we're at Bears then dullass - not bad.

Isn't Hopkins out for Arizona for 6 weeks?   We play them week 5.

Sure we need 3 TE's just saying one of them doesn't have to be Jjaw.Just trying to get their draft mileage out of him is not a recipe for success

Yeah I don’t want him either. Just stating his minimal value in case we run across injury. Pretty pissed he was ever the pick. Don’t think I can mentally not see him as a bust.

I will give him his chance at TE. Sometimes you get a player and put them in the wrong place(aka bad scouting read). But TE is harder to make this team on since there are really only 3 we use,so it's an uphill battle for him. I like Stoll, not the most talented TE,but he busts on every play as best he can. When he dropped a ball,he was really upset with himself. I like to see that(the attitude not the drop lol). Shows me a blue collar worker bee who wants to play to perfection, even if he doesn't quite have the tools to do that. I guess we will see about that jackson kid,if the injury is history and we did use draft capital on a TE, so I imagine he stays even if relegated to the PS
