Murray needs weapons? Weapons have been there. They just brought in his college teammate Hollywood Brown this offseason. They had a very good team. Murray was disappointing. He really seemed to fold the more everything was on the line. I believe Hurts is better.

They went 11-6 and lost Hopkins for the last 6 games. James Conner only real RB. Ertz only had 3 TD's last year. They(Murray) needs another TE(like we do) to emerge. Kirk is gone, AJ Green is old. No clue how brown works with Murray

Hurts is a winner and a natural born leader. This fall, I see him guiding the Eagles to an NFC East title. And you better believe this team will be a tough out in January.

I agree with this assessment mostly

Guy can't be real adept if he think Hurts has arm talent

How much anticipating can you actually do once you get all the way to the third read?

First you need to GET to the third read

All of this, of course, helps quarterback Jalen Hurts, who's heading into a make-or-break season. I think he'll make it. I believe in Hurts. He was a great player at Alabama and Oklahoma. He's smart, athletic and can make every throw. I have no doubt he can improve his accuracy. And he's a stellar leader.

NFL.com

He was so good at Bama he couldn't win the starting job(in fact he LOST the job). I think Hurts will make it because we gave him every tool there is to give. We have yet to see if he can "make every throw" so that statement is assumption at best. He can improve his accuracy (so could I) because we got players to give him windows and if he can't see/find/hit a wide open WR it's going to be a long year for him

Alabama's former starting quarterback had his position usurped by Tua Tagovailoa

No clue how Hollywood works with Murray? This seems like not much of a stretch for the imagination. They play in a system fairly close to what Ok ran……where they played together in college running.

Hollywood went over a thousand yards last year.

I love trilogies

Getting your former teammate that had over a thousand yards is pretty good. Not sure what else you’d expect of them.

It's the brain. Can he anticipate into tight widows on the 3rd read.

Ehhh..throwing into the tight windows seemed to be the problem,  along with other accuracy and arm strength stuff..

There is always a first time. Game is always evolving. You stuck on how the SB was won in the Ninties has little baring on anything.

I'm good letting other people be the first to do things...  the Eagles have a bad track record when they try to be the smartest person in the room.    Much more success doing the normal thing.   2017 and the last 2 drafts being great examples.

The game evolves... still the same idea where your QB needs to get everyone involved, not just do it all himself.

I think you are stuck more on the 90s style... you want that elite RB... I prefer the committee seeing how it has more success in winning titles this century.   Lynch might be the only top runner to win much.

I bet he’s about to get paid. Just watch the headlines.

And so how would that support your theory of teams being better off letting the cheap contract run it's course and then tag the QB?   I've been trying to tell you,  these guys don't like to play that last year without security.  It's not just the Eagles.

You want Hurts not to be in the year where it's the deciding factor in whether he gets the new contract. It is though.  Only way they let him play next year without a new deal in place is if they couldn't get someone else and just delaying the change for a year.

But you bet Murray gets paid early and Hurts can play for peanuts next year?   Doesn't make sense does it?

Murray is missing some key things you need in a leader. He’s got a big arm. What would you call those harder to measure factors that he’s missing and are so key in why he fails in the clutch?

Because he looks to run when the moment of truth comes... not pass.

I agree... Arizona,Miami and the Eagles really gave their QBs weapons this year.  Remains to be seen what the " evolving " QB can do with these teams?   There is always a 1st time... we shall see if any of these 3 finally win a playoff game?   That goes for Baltimore too.

In the Superbowl, you'll have imperfect situations. With a great OL and some adaptation, and leading the receiver after that, this is the type of QB play that brings another Lombardi.

All the Super Bowl victories stacked up being lemmings

Both sides prefer the early contract extension. Two sides to make that happen. Plenty of players reach their contract years. Many have above average  season. I’m not sure what it would take this season for Hurts to get extended next offseason. To me it is what it is

Reality. Doesn’t have to make sense to you really. The way things are most likely.

Most likely you think the Eagles ( an organization that always jumps ahead of the pay curve)  will not pay Hurts before he goes into the final year of his deal....if they want him as their long term starter?

What would make you think that?

This is what we have been trying to explain to you that THIS year is the PROVE it year, not next year. My concern is he is "borderline" and we sign a big contract for 4 years of mediocrity

You didn’t have to explain anything to me about how important year two starting is for him

Boring time of year not alot to talk about. I put up a post about punters

"But what I noticed was, I wasn’t communicating with [Jonathan] Gannon about something, or I wasn’t communicating enough with the defense when they needed to be pumped up, or Coach [Michael] Clay, or the special teams.”
