At least they like him to this point. My past op just came from scouting reports, but it seems he has turned things up a notch to be on an NLF roster. so 4 TE's IMO. Stoll stays. Calcatera,Togiia are projects, maybe one(or both) can get a few end of season snaps in. IDK about Johnson, seems he is hurt way too often to be relied on so IDK if we go in with 4 or 5 TE's. At least Jjaw is gone so thats 1 less to consider

TE Tyree Jackson should go on the team on IR

How long are we going to carry this guy? He's hurt ALL the time. Like a Hollins re-run

I hope this doesn’t make anyone upset to talk about another team’s player and from a past era, but I just watched the NFL Throwback on Barry Sanders which was 30 minutes straight of some of his biggest highlights. I mean, I ALWAYS said he was the best RB in NFL history and it’s not close. Consider this: his QBs during his reign were the likes of Bob Gagliano, Rodney Peete, Scott Mitchell, Andre Ware, Eric Hipple, Erik Kramer, Don Majikowski, Charlie Batch, and Frank Reich at an advanced age. If you have never heard of them, it is because they all SUCKED! So he played most games with 8 in the box every Sunday and still cranked out highlight run after run. Packer, Bears and somewhat Viking fans had to HATE the guy. He made pro bowl player after pro bowl player on defense look BAD. Hall of Famers look silly! Back in those days we didn’t get to see the Lions on TV much because there was no SUNDAY TICKET and unless you lived in Detroit, the Lions just weren’t good enough to show in most regions. The Lions really squandered away a generational talent. One could argue they did the same with the best WR in NFL history in Calvin Johnson. But people could argue substantially for other guys like Jerry Rice as the greatest ever at WR. There was no one as good as SANDERS. JIM Brown was awesome but many of the defenders in his day were not the athletes that Sanders faced. What a fun half hour of TV Football to watch.

I'll take Payton... and Marcus Allen.  More to the job than just running and juking guys.     It's why he came out a lot in goal line and passing downs.

I was a big Marcus Allen fan myself.I just think Sanders did so much with so little ( next to no) help at all. Marcus played with good QBs and Payton played on a team with great defenses and capable QBs. Fun era of football! Too bad the Eagles were so mediocre to crappy during most of it. After Vermeil, the Eagles were bad. Even with Buddy ball, the offense was offensive. D was unreal, maybe the best ever, but the offense even with Cunningham was bad. No playoff wins and only one appearance…the fog bowl.

And I often thought the Lions coach, Fontes, if I remember right, was an idiot for taking Barry out near the goal line.

Look up the starting QBs for the Lions from 1986 to 2006. That is rough!

Many may have a bad taste in their mouth for what Tiger Woods did by cheating on his wife years ago. I have to say that his status in my eyes have risen a bunch over the past few weeks. First, the dude turns down $700-$800 million to play for LIV. Then he gathers the top 20 golfers in the world to speak for the PGA and what it represents, not just to them, but for all future golfers. Hats off to you Tiger...

On IR we can afford to carry him for many years. He’s not holding up our roster any.

I absolutely agree. Sanders was just amazing! The only knock I could put on him is he always was trying for the big play and occasionally would get caught in the backfield for losses. He wasn’t a One Cut North South runner for sure. Most amazing RB I’ve ever seen.

Jim Brown was tough. Those forearms were forklifts. Never wanted to go out of bounds. He was brutal and punished guys.

Sanders was a huge fan of Walter Payton. So he refused to break his record. He could have easily done but retired instead.

How good would Sanders have been running behing the Dallas O line back in the day.

If the goal is to win the rushing title, I won't argue.  For me the goal is to win the game.  More to playing than just running.  It's why I don't get all this fuss over our own Miles Sanders?

Allen played FB, could throw, catch etc.  Payton was the offense for years.   Every team stacked the box in those days as the standard formation was 2 backs, TE and 2 WRs.   Sanders also played on turf, which for his style is an advantage... same as it was for a guy like Sproles.  I believe Detroit also ran a run and shoot or some type of spread formation for a while there too.    Barry would be my first pick in flag football... NFL, I just prefer the all around backs. I'll throw in Marshall Faulk too. Roger Craig is another one I like.

I think you are over simplifying it Joe. Sanders was not just a RB. Yes he was mostly used as such, but he could catch the ball as well s any RB. Just because he was not used as such was not his fault. He averaged 1500 rushing yards per year and 300 Receiving yards per year. 1800 was over 200 more that Marshall Faulk, over 600 more than Craig. He played for a crappy team. They had no defense, no QB, No coaching. Yet he still dominated year after year. He did whatever he was asked to do. Just because he was not asked to catch the ball, it is his fault?

He was far better than almost all RB's of the past 40 years....

I will always be an LT fan. Him and Gates tore it up

Still a cheater-pass

Also these guys didn't play under the NFWUSSL rules

Yes, but we believe in 2nd chances right. Vic did far worse yet we seem to give him a pass. Woods paid for his mistakes, believe me!

DeShaun suspension now 11 games

I wasn't happy with signing Vick. He was brought up that dog fighting was OK. He did turn that around and now fights for animals. Tiger had it all and let stupidity ruin it for him. I have zero respect for him

LOL Oh,that's about as pointless as a sawed off hotdog. Give someone a chance who may have a FUTURE instead of reserved parking at the MASH tent. Hollins 2.0 and just as moronic

Marshall Faulk was definitely on an incredible tear there for a bit. Running catching unbelievable. Two guys that I wouldn’t put on top but I feel always get left out of the discussion are Eric Dickerson and Earl Campbell. LaDanian Tomlinson was completely unstoppable running catching even throwing for a bit himself. Terrell Davis was unstoppable for a bit himself.

Hollins was Active Roster though. Tyree Jackson is on the IR which we have unlimited spots of. So midseason we have the extra option to call him up. Which probably works pretty well for how our roster sits. Need every roster spot now. But seven weeks in? Might have an open spot or two.
