It’s stupid not to assume the worst case scenario with him - foot surgery - start the year on PUP - come back to get injured again.

At least he’s not our problem anymore, 2nd rounder it is.

Howie did a lot of good things this off-season, but the best thing that might have happened for him was Wentz whining himself out of town and thus ridding himself of the god awful contract.

Exactly. When he’s not perpetually injured, he’s playing horrible, when he’s not playing horrible, he’s a problem in the locker-room, when he’s not being a problem in the locker-room, he’s injured again.

So F’in glad to be rid of the Wentz’s roller coaster. Good F’in riddance.

If he is healthy he is going to play.  They aren't going to intentionally throw games when they view themselves as a contending team.

I think you missed the point. You said "if he misses 5 games, 6 games" etc etc... So I said, the damage that could be done there is if they end up going to get someone to play QB because of Wentz's history, and that someone does well, maybe they go with that QB..***because they are doing well*** and when Wentz comes back, they stick with the QB that is already doing well, they would damn sure most certainly let a healthy Wentz ride the bench if they are already doing well AND they can salvage their 1st round pick. This would be nowhere near "throwing games".

The 70% threshold includes "making the playoffs", if they are a lock to make the playoffs, and Wentz has already missed a big chunk of snaps, and they are on cruise control. Now they have a choice to "sit Wentz to keep him healthy".. you don't think they'll do it to keep their 1st? they will do it guaranteed. The issue is he is already hurt and he is already on his way to playing less that 70% of the snaps. By the time we get to the last few games of the season, Wentz could already be at 65% snaps played. They sit him for the final 2 games and there's your under 70%, they keep their 1st.

A bit off topic, but who are the Colts backup QBs? I saw a couple of names, but, I was like WHO are they??

Colts are seriously going into this season with Wentz as the #1 and NOBODY behind him??

Eason and Sam Ehlinger.

If they trade for Foles, Wentz will never ever be right again.

Think what you will of Carson, but I for one will still credit him and be thankful for, Super Bowl LII. Not the game itself, of course. That was all Saint Nick the Magnificent (QB wise). But Carson's 2017 regular season was key to putting us in position for NFL glory and Super Bowl immortality.  Philly Philly!

I really just wish that he'd been able to duplicate that performance, but I don't entirely blame him for a lot of the ills that we've faced these past few years. Not that he is blameless, either.

I wish him all the success that he can have, just so long as it benefits the Eagles.

yup

Out indefinitely, per the ESPN ticker. Not season ending injury though.

Ugghh.

We'll see how it goes.  If it is just people rehashing the same debates about Wentz we had the last year there's no point.  Tracking his progress and the impacts on the conditional pick is fine.

Mods don't care.

They do what they want.

Nobody likes Mods or their reasoning,

It's already turned into a Wentz bashing thread

Yeah cause everyone should be happy he’s hurt and threatening the chances of a first. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Do you all ever stop kissing his bottom?

I'm sorry, but I don't know whether to 😆 or 😥, but in the interest of my mental health, I'll

I don’t blame him for anything. But I’m glad To be free of the drama and the constant injuries and worry if injury.  Feels good to not have to worry.  I mean could you imagine if he was here today with that foot injury?  Howie would have gotten killed for keeping him here.

That pretty much nails it. I'm just relieved he's no longer our problem. I never really expected him to net us a 1st, and for a long time, it just felt like the same never-ending depressing story with him. It's at least better to be watching this trainwreck from the sidelines for a change.

We're not free of worry. I worry that we'll spend the next 10 years looking for a QB. Maybe Hurts is here for a decade, but maybe we're doomed to toil like we did in the years after Randall.

As for Carson's situation right now, I have no idea what's going on. I barely even knew that camp had started. I just happened to look at the date and thought "this is around the time that camps start... I wonder when ours starts". That was about 15 hours after camp started.

Pre-Season will be here and our first one will be 2 minutes from ending and I'll think... 'I wonder when pre-season starts..." lol

They can't have someone behind him or he'll fold... has no confidence or drive to compete.

I’d agree with most of this bar the very first sentence. I do blame him for the stuff he could control and didn’t do anywhere near a good enough job.

The reports started out as a minor foot injury and now the very best you hear is that it's not a Lisfranc but it's about 50 50 between journalists saying it's not and journalists saying it is, and let's be honest if he's felt something pop in his foot, the injury 'involves a bone and a ligament' and they've got an orthopaedic foot specialist reviewing scans it's hard to see how its not Lisfranc.

To trigger the 1st rounder he'd have to play every snap of almost 12 and three quarter games, if it is a Lisfranc he'll be in a boot until week 4 or 5.

We're getting a second.
