Eagles are an average team, by any objective measure. They just got through the tough part of the schedule, now there's not one team they can't beat except Dallas with Dak, and we'll see what Dallas fields in week 18.

If the OL holds up, especially if Brooks returns in a few weeks, they are one of the best run blocking units in the NFL. And there's aren't a lot of good run defenses left on the schedule, NO and Denver. And a solid running game makes life easier for any young QB - Hurts is no worse than a dozen QBs currently starting the NFL.

As far as defense, Herbert is the only legitimate starter they face until Dallas, and he's in a serious funk. Jets (Wilson), Giants (2) (D Jones), Washington (2) (Heinicke), Denver (Bridgewater), NO (Hill). Gannon can be more aggressive, start Edwards at MLB to stop the run, play his safeties up more and blitz more.

First 8 games, Dak, Brady, Mahomes, Carr - we gave up 144 points, other four QBs 47 points.

So they could go 4-5 or 7-2 the rest of the way. But they have a legitimate shot at the last wildcard, not enough to mortgage anything, but enough to keep the team motivated.

I think he knows already that Foles has refused a trade back to Philly; it's just part of a schtick.

I had to go to the dictionary and get the actual definition of "legitimate":

Hmmm ..... we could come up with a Top 10 List for this one

Been saying this for awhile but with how the schedule plays out the Eagles will be in the running for that 7th seed.

He's 22 years old, wealthy, and living in Vegas....I don't find it surprising at all.

In all seriousness a wild card birth wouldn’t be out of the question with our schedule down the stretch.

Without a doubt, better starting QB's than Hurts:

Aaron Rodgers, Kyler Murray, Matthew Stafford, Russel Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Tom Brady, Josh Allen, Derek Carr, Justin Herbet, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow (13)

Better but closer:

Ryan Tannehill, Carson Wentz, Mac Jones, Kirk Cousins, Matt Ryan, Baker Mayfield (6)

Arguable, but I'd lean over Hurts:

Daniel Jones, Ben Rothlisberger, Teddy Bridgewater (3)

sadly they have a chance cause everyone after the top 6 in the nfc stinks. And the saints likely see a drop off with siemian or hill out there. Plus we have a bunch of winnable games against the broncos, saints (without Jameis now), jets, giants twice and Washington twice. Might only take 8-9 to get in. Still only see the eagles get six wins as their ceiling tho

Every couple of years a 10-win team wouldn’t make the playoffs, and now sadly the dreck is reserved a spot every year. Not better, just more profitable.

What?
