Singleton is terrible.  It was fun watching people try to talk him up and make him out to be qualified to be an NFL linebacker.   He's not.  He's another example of a player being puffed up by folks because the alternatives are worse.  He's bad.  And the fact that he's out there just once again shows the failure of this front office to actually build a roster.

He was good against the run last year, but bad in coverage. I’m surprised at how bad he’s been this year at everything.

Good Lord Wilson looked worse.  He over pursues after being late to react to the run.  It's not like Helaire had to cut back hard to make anyone at the second level miss.  In fact, it looks to me that Milton Williams ended up making the tackle.

It's one thing to not use premium resources for LBs. Most of us are okay with that. But what will make or break a good GM is what kind of LBs you can get without it. It doesn't take a good GM to omit the positional spending at LB; it does take a good GM to get solid players without using top resources.

The bend and break is what you do when you don't have the FS who can make cover 1 work, or the CBs who can play press man, or the LBs who can cover TEs down the seam.

You take away the deep throw, try to come up quick and tackle on the underneath throws, give up easy runs but hope to get penetration and a stuff and force them into 2nd or 3rd and long.

It doesn't require uber-talents to make it work, it does require a solid group of smart, albeit even if somewhat limited athletes, who might not put up fancy workout numbers but who recognize plays and break quickly on the ball.

In that sense you can build this defense up in a couple seasons by bringing in a lot of draft picks, SFAs and low cost FAs who fit the scheme.

Yeah sorry doesn't change the fact that I dont like it.

This team would like light years different if we just hit on ONE Wide receiver in the last century.

WAY too many resources were spent on WR. Not only were the resources wasted, but the WR’s couldn’t play dead. Double whammy.

I think it’s fair to say they hit on Smith and Watkins, though.

Well, we have the WRs, we have most of the OL, now you add defense.

That's why it's called "rebuilding."

If we had enough talent, we'd be "contenders."

I don’t mind "bend-don’t-break” in college. College kids will usually make mistakes to end drives. The best professionals, however, will carve you up.

There were several occasions when Wilson was defending Tyreek Hill in coverage, at least one of them was a TD.   That was cool.

Also, in todays NFL, you can either choose to be "bend dont break" or you can just break.

Name a single NFL defenss that is out here shutting people down.  Even Washingtons defense, loaded with first rounders, gets smoked from time to time

The key is to not have JAGs in like 8-9 positions so that you can actually make a play when the opportunity is there.

Yes! We Are Eagles Nation

He uses his hands but I don't think that's what is causing the separation.  The defenders are falling and their course isn't getting altered. I mean maybe that's the advantage of him being so light.  He can push off of heavier defenders without it looking like he's pushing off.

His arm was extended but maybe the refs are thinking like you and that's why they weren't called. Hopefully that's the case

We do?

Im apparently higher on Reagor than like 99% of Eagles fans.  The light is starting to come on with this kid, give him a chance

Is there video of the play where the Chiefs went off left tackle and there wasn’t anyone in the area for about 15 yards. I’d never seen anything like that in my life.

Also, that Solak guy is a great Twitter follow.

The rebuild would be done if we did not have to continue dumping resources into WR to fix all the mistakes that were made, and there were a lot of mistakes.

This. There are times we actually create a negative play (e.g., sack) or get a penalty on the offense. That's when your strategy pays off and you get them off the field. Instead, we allow guys to convert from 2nd and 20 by giving up 10-15 on 2nd and then an easy conversion.

The last 2 weeks the defense hasn't been able to take advantage of its opportunities at all.

Eagles Flirted with 500 yards of offense yesterday and Reagor had 1 catch for 9 yards while seeing 70% of the snaps.

If you think about it a regular, d2 or d3 college WR could get 1 catch for 9 yards in yesterdays game

IS that an issue of the WR or the offense or the QB?

Reagor may not be getting the throws for a multitude of reasons, one could be he isn't getting open, another might be play design, and likely our QB isn't reading the defense well enough to find him?

Little known NFL rule: it is legal to draft competently even while competing in the playoffs.

We don't have that guy.
