The Eagles have undrafted Eric Wilson, undrafted TJ Edwards, and undrafted Alex Singleton getting most of the snaps at LB.  They're shopping out of the clearance bin and getting that much back in value.

This is spot on...  the current defense is, simply put, years of lousy drafting on the defensive side of the ball...  there is ZERO cure outside of drafting better there, and for that we need a new approach with a new set of eyes...

Lurie has simply got to move away from Howie as the GM, or we'll be pissing and moaning about this defense forever more...

Wilson makes $2.75M. Awful. Like Nate Gerry bad.

There were several occasions when Wilson was defending Tyreek Hill in coverage, at least one of them was a TD.   That was cool.

Also, in todays NFL, you can either choose to be "bend dont break" or you can just break.

Name a single NFL defenss that is out here shutting people down.  Even Washingtons defense, loaded with first rounders, gets smoked from time to time

The key is to not have JAGs in like 8-9 positions so that you can actually make a play when the opportunity is there.

Excellent post and your last line is the crux.

Other than the divisional games against NYG and WFT and DET and NYJ it’s looking like we’re going to have one of the hardest schedules in the league when this season is all said and done. Which is pretty crazy given they’re playing a last place schedule based off of last year. Just a crappy shoot of the rotation getting the AFC West and the NFC South this year.

He's got a guy  coming right from behind him, if he steps up to throw that down the field that ball is getting stripped from behind.  Plus it was a 3rd and 3.  The dumpoff to Gainwell to pickup the 1st was the right throw.

Laugh all you want Greg Ward haters but guess who's tied for the team lead in TD.

2 catches on the year, 2 touchdowns.  Now that's production!

You really deserve much worse QB as a fan if we are being honest

Yes, my bar is set at someone who can actually win a championship not have them be mediocre at best. He's great at padding stats and hitting 5 yard throws, but you will never see Hurts out pass a good QB in a playoff game. That's just not who Hurts is.

Hurts should have thrown to his first read.

Well, at least now I know how to plan for the future.

Howie Roseman bad.   That was one of his prized free agents this past year.   Anthony Harris has also been a revelation.

Hey now, I don't hate Greg Ward.  I hate Howie Roseman, because of Greg Ward.   There's a difference.   I wish Ward nothing but the best...

Would have had one earlier yesterday if Hurts didn’t miss him wide open.

All 22 is still not available to people?

I think I was jaded after the last 2 games.  Hurts had an OK game on Sunday. I would be fine seeing if he improves over the course of the season.  I think they could even justify keeping him next season given what's available in the draft and who may be available as a FA.  I think they ultimately will need to move on from him.  I don't think he's going to get to SB quality QB. If he  had this type of game last season, I would be more optimistic. There's no question that he's collecting garbage stats at times vs. bad defenses.  He also made better decisions on Sunday.  If Sirianni had run more in the red zone, maybe this team gets one or 2 more TDs.  He has potential to improve.  He just has a long way to go.

That's what happens when you give out horrible contracts that cap strap you for multiple years, you end up buying free agents from the bargain bin.

Dillard's fault - I see it now.

We do?

Yes, I think we do. Mailata and Dillard are both good to very good players. Lane? Right now I don't know. I like Driscoll a lot. He reminds me of Todd Herremans, who could play pretty much any position (except center) and play it well, and I believe Driscoll can play center. Seumalo is a fine player. So is Brooks if healthy. Herbig is vastly improved; he's dropped weight and now he can move. I like Toth a lot; he just needs time and coaching. He showed  lot in PS. Dickerson is a stud, if healthy. Opeta could probably start for Atlanta or the Giants. Kelce is still playing well; he might play another year if he likes the team.

Ages: 24, 26, 31, 24, 27, 32, 23, 25, 23, 25, 33. Eleven players.

Plus, we have the best OL coach in the business.

At TE, Goedert is having a fine year and Stoll has real potential. Already a very good blocker.

26 and 23.

Kelce may be gone at any time and Brooks and Lane may never make it back. That's our three oldest guys. I think almost any NFL team would happily take what we have in exchange for what they have. We can and will draft a couple on Day 2 or 3 but we don't HAVE to.

Nah, the cap isn't a problem.  Howie has it under control, he knows what he's doing.

I know we're all going to do it, but looking at him from a game to game standpoint is going to drive a lot of people nuts. The flashes are there and they were last year too. The problem has always been consistency with him. If we look at just Atlanta, he was good. San Fran was meh. If we look at just Dallas, he was bad. If we look at just yesterday, he was good. The problem is so far hasn't had good back to back complete games.

On that play yeah, Dillard was blocking that defender.

Now if Hurts instead tried to hit Quez down the field but got the ball stripped out because that defender was coming behind as he was stepping up to go to Watkins then all you people would be ****ing and moaning as to why he didn't just take the easy dump off to Gainwell for the first down.
