I prefer Strong in the early 3 over either of those 2 options.

He can throw the ball a mile but very inaccurate and plays a lot of hero ball. He is also a statue in the pocket. Not saying I'd be out on him in the 3rd, but I do like a QB who can do something other than throw the ball away when a play breaks down. Also the osteochondritis in his knee...

Well that's a different story.  The assumption was at the same spot.  Yeah, I prefer Ridder later on as well.  But I think WIllis is gone before out pick anyway.  If they trade Hurts away, they are not going to wait until the 2nd round to draft a QB.

Cap isn't real.  Haven't you heard?

I'm thinking there's possibly a receiver on the board that KC would be interested in at 19 like Wilson or Olave. Or an olineman the Bengals may be interested in. Trade down to 30, pick up an additional 2nd, and take Ridder at 30.

Pick 30+62 is pretty equivalent to pick 19 on the value chart. Maybe we have to throw in one of the 5th's to make it happen.

Sadly, I feel Howie is locked in on Pickett.

So if we could get Matt Ryan without giving up a 1st/2nd and then trade Hurts. We would have a lot of ammo in the draft to fix the defense... That could be a pretty competitive NFC team.

I don’t see the point in giving up anything for Matt Ryan. At this point in his career, coming onto a new team with a new coach I don’t think he’s really that much of an upgrade. As someone said 30 minutes ago, just stick with Minshew at like 1/8th of the price.

Mathieu is in Disneyland, not Philly btw

Thanks doc.

You're welcome. Check in tomorrow for more help with pessimism.

If Ryan gets dealt the likely destination has to be Indy. Maybe San Fran because of Shanahan

The less he does, the better I like it.

So much for the rumors he was in Philadelphia today.

2 coaches and 4 schemes? Doesn't seem to add up properly

If you count college... apparently that's important to consider.  He is basically a rookie, after all.

Alabama, Oklahoma, Pederson, Sirianni.

If you look at the other Oklahoma QBs who went #1, all had at least one season to learn the offense before they excelled.

And last year, Sirianni changed everything mid-stream.

I don't know what Hurts' ceiling actually is, but I'd be shocked if he can't improve to some extent. How much? That remains to be seen.

Let's not forget, Smith is a talented WR, but last season he was still a rookie, and one who had a bigger adjustment to the NFL b/c he had to deal with tighter coverage (and learning to compensate for his physical limitations). There were games he disappeared that had nothing to do with Hurts. Same with Watkins, who is a work in progress. And let's not talk about Reagor/Ward/JJAW as your third option.  At TE, \Goedert was a big target, but when Ertz left, teams ignored Stoll. Nor did the RBs help much, Gainwell was a rookie, Sanders lost his hands, Scott isn't Westbrook as a midget RB receiver.

Gee... I wonder why he did that.  🤔

Eagles might be able to get a 4th or better from a panicky team that misses out on Watson, Mayfield, Ryan for Minshew.

Should have just gone after Winston

They must’ve been talking about the other Happiest Place On Earth. Easy mistake.

I am not opposed to signing the honey badger at all. He's got a few years left in him, and I'd love to draft a young day 2 S to pair with him ala Pitre, Cine, Joseph, Cross, McKinley.

Yep

That guy will be on his second contract and still be a rookie

I know that not everyone can (or might want to) donate money, but I want to remind everyone that there's a few ways to help the board earn money. Ways that don't involve you sending money.

Our Amazon Affiliate link, for instance. https://www.amazon.com/?&_encoding=UTF8&tag=emb093-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=a199b37cf70920e88772a80a7d831710&camp=1789&creative=9325

If you purchase through Amazon, then using that link to access Amazon before you make your purchase, will earn the board a commission. Right now, we're on track to earn about $500 for the year. If more people use it every time you go to Amazon, we could fully fund the EMB just from that.

Another way to earn the board a nice commission is Rakuten, until March 31st, if you sign up and spend the required amount within the required time, the board gets $30 and you also get $30. So, you could sign up for it and immediately go to Fanatics (for instance), and buy $30 worth of Eagles Super Bowl gear (if they still have some), and essentially get it for free. Because you'll have qualified for your $30 sign up bonus and the board would then get $30. That's just one example, there's a lot of other sites that you can buy from to get your $30. Amazon used to be part of it, but isn't anymore. So that sucks. Here's the Rakuten signup link: Rakuten Signup Link

If you don't want to sign up for Rakuten but still want to buy from Fanatics, use our Fanatics link and we'll get a commission from that sale. https://fanatics.93n6tx.net/P0BPKR

Donations are awesome and a fast way to raise money, but I know that inflation is hitting everyone. Both in grocery prices and gas prices. So those alternate ways to get the board money are good ways to help, without digging into your wallet for something that you wouldn't already be buying anyway and little by little, using our links throughout the year, can 100% fully fund the board without the need for donations.

@Paul852  You've told me 40k is nothing to you. Lets see!

Absolutely! And I swear, at least 20% will go directly to the board! Err... umm... 75%? Hey, my Heat Pump/AC died and a new one is about $15k! lol (Damned Inflation! 5 years ago it was a tad under $10k)

Overpay for an older safety. Great. There is no plan. They lost out on the younger guys already and blew it. You don't go and overpay for an aging player now.

You don't... but Howie does.   How do you think we ended up with the Malik Jackson and Desean Jackson contracts?

You are correct.  I just replaced my HVAC units and it cost $15k.  Fortunately, I got it for 0% interest for 5 years.  But, it still hurt!

I think my F5 key is worn out from checking to see if Eagles have landed anyone, if Giroux has been traded, and is Nick Castellanos signing with the Phils

G is the only sure thing that’s happening. Was supposed to be the panthers but apparently the avs are back in it.
