My point was the proportionate nature of a team’s average passing vs what they do in wins and losses. Any of those teams will pass more in losses than wins proportionate to their average passing stats on the season. He specifically brought up that Hurts passes more in losses than wins; everyone does that.

But that wasn’t the point of his original post. He wasn’t comparing Hurts to the best QBs on the league, he was comparing him to the worst based solely on his passing stats vs bad QBs who don’t even run.

Except that 7 of the top 10 teams in PASS ATTEMPTS were playoff teams. And more to that, playoff teams that made deep runs. The NFL has drastically changed, and it's no longer 3 yards and a cloud of dust. It's a pass first league, and we have a run first QB. That's the problem.

Tweets still embed pretty small on here though

I don't understand this. If you're trading 3 1st rounders, you might as well guarantee the contract. You're all in on the player.

Agreed. If that's all there is to it, this is beyond stupid.

If Watson is smart he'd go to the Saints.  But most likely, he isnt.

One month from changing your family’s lives forever. I can’t even imagine. These are always the worst pre-draft stories.

Trade back #19 to late first and get Boye Mafe and I like this

It was always Ojabo, J Johnson or Karlaftis at our pick spots. Depending on what Ojabo's injury is, it makes the decision to not take Karlaftis even easier. And in R2 I'm still very interested in Mafe, Ebikete, and Thomas.

About as good as it gets

surprisingly they hadnt updated their board yet. He still went 1 pick before us. I was hoping to pounce in round 7.

I got tickets for WWE Smackdown today. I think my kids will enjoy. Who even wrassles anymore?

In before the "1st round talent that we got in the 2nd round" comment.

I didn't like Watson before because of the accusations.  At this point, I like him even less.  This whole "this team is no longer under consideration" nonsense feels like "the bachelor".  I will not give a rose to the Browns, and I will not give a rose to the Panthers.  Stop it, Deshaun needs to pick a team and just stop.  He seems like a real primma donna at this point.  Double hard pass.

Also: neither are great destinations, but the Saints are slightly better.  Saints are living in cap hell and just lost Sean Peyton.  They do have some playmakers there, but he has big shoes to fill in Drew Brees.  Falcons have no playmakers (outside Pitts, who was rumored to be traded for Watson), bad offensive line, and now no high picks.    But, hey, he gets to go home and visit the massage parlors he's familiar with!

I think your assumptions are at the heart of the disagreement.

I don’t expect anything of the sort.   It should be reasonable to expect but I don’t with Hurts.

A repeat if last year? Start out passing a lot (Lowie's perference), offense sucks, dial down the passing dial up the running, offense it better? But next year -- NEXT YEAR(2023) -- our Quarterback will have enough time in the system to really shine!

Any chance that changes by May? I dont know when they have their draft.

Every QB entering the NFL has changed schemes. Most QBs change schemes multiple times during their careers. All that I have heard comment on the change say it is no big deal and that "football is football."

History has shown that young QBs who are able to develop in the same offensive system early in their career have a far better chance of succeeding in the NFL than young QBs who have to continually change different offenses year to year early in their career.

Instead of jumping to conclusions, let's see how it plays out.

Sirianni has been straightforward about Hurts' faults, and no one doubts his work ethic.

So concluding that it's impossible that Hurts could improve is silly, how much he can improve is the real question.

He's not going to turn into Mahomes, but he might turn into a much better version of Hurts. Guys like Garcia, Gannon, etc. were consistent winners without the big arm.

Possibly. I think they do their draft/shuffling after Wrestlemania. Which is April 2/3

Feel sick for Ojabo. If players do well at the combine, they should not workout at their pro days. Hope it's just an ankle injury.

Do we have the 19th pick in the 2nd round???

Oh good to know. I will have to let my kids watch tonight. And keep track. They know Cena and the Rock from movies, and I have showed my older son some highlights of cena, the rock, and Stone Cold. Dont really know anything about the storylines these days. We will have to get a little familiar with it.
