I’ll have to break something to you.

Harden won’t be your friend.  Sorry.  I know.

We’re always cool.

This is hilarious coming from you when you tell us how neat a guy Carson was while he was playing like crap for 2 years. Talk about a washed player who is bad teammate.

And I’ll repeat this for you for the 100th time, I’m not the guy who likes a player for his favorite color, his views on life, etc etc. I like a guy who can help win a championship.

Interesting that Peter King was at Novacare last night. Looking forward to that 5,000-word story Monday.

surely. its paying to derisk. but is a second WR really that essential to building the team? opinions will vary wildly, but i think Smitty is more than capable of being that #1

it does seem obvious they are setting the stage to add the qb next draft

Smitty is capable yes. But AJ Brown already is. Makes Smith one of the best #2’s in the league.

Yes, I much preferred a more physical preseason and the entire team being injured as compared to last year when we actually had starters play the whole year.

Nice straw man.   Actually playing in the PS, with a QB that we all were told was 'basically a rookie' and was learning a new system... Hmmmm... maybe actually facing some live rushes would have paid dividends in the regular season for a QB who's greatest struggles are in pocket awareness, going through his reads, vision and delivering the ball on time and on target.   Maybe he could have played a little looser in the preseason and taken chances with the ball and hanging in the pocket a little more to go through progressions and it could have carried forward.

Football is a physical game, but there's no proof that playing in the preseason destroys a team's ability to stay healthy in the regular season.  Anecdotal evidence is not statistically meaningful.  They went the scared route, played super sloppy and got off to a bad start.

Ok this great O-line we hav,e.  If Kelce retires nxt yr I assume dickerson moves to center. Who is at guard that I'm forgetting? Seumalo. Mailata at LT Lane RT.

I generally dislike King's opinions and takes on things. But he is an excellent writer.

I really feel like people aren’t paying enough attention to what the Saints gave up to get Olave.

That might be one of the dumbest trades I’ve ever seen.

Goedert should feast on the interior of the field with those two outside

You know we can draft/sign replacements right?

For those catching up...

Unless he got a brain and arm transplant this off season, that isn’t happening.

Thoughts having caught up from last night.

Super excited that Davis got picked; he's been the player I've wanted from the draft for a long time. No guarantees but in theory he gives Gannon so many options now on D that were not there last year. Bigger people beat up on little people.

I'm a fan of the AJ Brown trade and it's ish or bust for Hurts now.  No more excuses or swag videos can be hid behind.

Only sour point is being back in the usual position of not enough draft picks once the GM spaffed his load. This team is still lacking depth for potentially the 3rd offseason in a row- for all the upside on Davis and Brown, there are still gaping holes at S, LB, CB and maybe a C/G and DE.  The FO really need to work what they have to get those lottery tickets back now.

Lol sure but felt like i forgot someone who many round here thinks can end up starting. Maybe Herbig and another guy. Driscoll?

Jordan Fing Davis! I was thinking if either Davis or Johnson were in striking distance they were going to jump the Ravens for them. I would have loved Williams too.

Great first round. I think the picks given up from AJ Brown are a little much when you just look at them at face value, but I think the WR market is going to explode here after the draft and this team really needed a solid #1. We will have to see how the rest of the draft turns out to get the bigger picture on this move.

This is the year Hurts needs to put it all together. There is no doubt the team is putting him in a position to succeed, and giving him weapons in the passing game. If he doesn't show improvement, or even just slight improvement, I don't think it will be enough for him to stay on the team long term and the birds will be looking to make a QB move next offseason.

He's practicing it as we speak.

Excited about last night but yes our secondary is in scary shape right now.

Not sure who CB2 is but safety is just fine with Harris and Epps.

I get it. But there is a price for certainty.

I’d say it’s the price the Eagles bear for Howie’s draft incompetence.

He’s poured a laughable amount of draft resources at WR over the past three years, for very little production.

The move to acquire Brown is an attempt to cover his tracks caused by his own incompetence, all the while, neglecting the rest of the roster, and in particular, the defense.

Some of those spots can be filled in with cheap one year contracts to vets.

Teams won't even have to cover them.

I like the Davis pick. Just not how we traded 3 picks to move up 2 spots

I’d prefer Dickerson stay at LG. Him and Mailata are a wall, but the move probably is to C.

Agreed. This whole offense hinges on Hurts taking a major step forward. I’m skeptical at best.

The picks given up for Brown are a little much?? If your options (which I think these were the two options the Eagles debated) are:

18 for unproven Treylon Burks or

18 and 101 (a compensatory pick) for AJ Brown, a proven #1 WR who fits the same size mold as Burks

I make that trade every time…and I wanted Burks in R1. Brown is only 24 and has 3 seasons of experience and proven production. Burks is a dice roll like any other draft pick.

EDIT: I’ve been clamoring for an X with size all off-season to let DeVonta play the Z. We got it! It’s ok to be excited guys. Night 1 was amazing.
