They referenced article 27 of the FDC

27. SUSPENSION OF IMPLEMENTATION OF DISCIPLINARY
MEASURES
1. The judicial body may decide to fully or partially suspend the implementation of
a disciplinary measure.
2. By suspending the implementation of the sanction, the judicial body subjects the
person sanctioned to a probationary period of one to four years.
3. If the person benefiting from a suspended sanction commits another infringement
of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the suspension shall
be revoked by the judicial body and the sanction enforced without prejudice to
any additional sanction imposed for the new infringement.
4. Disciplinary measures relating to match manipulation cannot be suspended.

It's written right into their rules. Just because it hasn't been done before and it benefits the host nation doesn't make it wrong. People should be upset that they aren't doing it regularly.

It's the correct thing to do and FIFA can do whatever they well please. It's still BS though. But I'm here for it, I said US and Mexico would both make the quarters so let's go.

Eh. I'll give you Kante and Benzema (not sure how I forgot about him) but Giroud still played admirably at the 9 in his place. Hernandez is always hurt though and honestly not that great for France when he isn't.

That's 3 players that could've helped, but they still wouldn't have creamed Argentina like you're implying. Those same 3 players were in the starting lineup only a year prior in the Euros knockout game against Switzerland and got bounced when it went to PKs. I'll repeat... To Switzerland.

I'd say they'll cream 'em this time but Argentina won't get that far.

No one is beating the US with Trump in their corner - all he does is win

If only they could've creamed Switzerland, Argentina, or Spain in three straight tournaments.

Columbia is my sleeper.

I'll admit that semi final vs Spain could be a problem.

Going to be interesting to see if England can overcome Aztecs tonight.

The Striking Viking might've just knocked Brazil out.

That'll do it

Cornell is probably better.

Haaland is amazing. Wow.

I like presidents who rig world cups.

THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP

If they play like this in their next two games, Norway will be back for the final. They're shockingly good.

And yet had it happened to France and mbappe had gotten the card they would all be rejoicing a reversal.

The bottom line of this entire incident is that there never should have been a card. No one is calling THAT a scandal. No one outside of america is calling the validity of the call into question despite it openly being stated that VAR was used improperly. But it's the US, so no one cared that it hurt us. But now everyone is crying because it was corrected. I hope we win the whole Fing thing and Balogun scores 50 goals

You're flat out wrong if you're saying that's not at least a yellow card. Sorry, but that kind of challenge gets a yellow all the time in soccer. Sometimes it gets missed or a star player gets the benefit of the doubt, but you can't go around stepping on ankles with your cleats and then say it's never a card.

Yellow, sure. Straight red? Absolutely not. That challenge happens 50 times a game, once time it's awkward contact

You know, I’ve always been good natured about international soccer. Always wanted the US to win of course, but knew it was unlikely and so didn’t really have any strong opinions other than Mexico must lose.

But watching the Europoors and their redditard brains melt down over this has me wanting complete European destruction in this tournament. I don’t care so much if we win it all, because let’s be honest it isn’t likely, as long as Europe loses.

And so for the rest of this tournament, I will begrudgingly become a Messi fan unless we somehow see Argentina in the final.

I DEMAND TOTAL WESTERN HEMISPHERIC VICTORY AGAINST THE EUROFAGS AND NOTHING LESS!

Argentina is under psychotic chainsaw wielding right wing techno-libertarian rule, Messi might as well play home games at Mar-a-lago… I can do what I want!

Bandwagon fan jumping aboard when a team wins and not a moment before, just like when you "decided" to become a Real Madrid fan. Typical casual trying to sit at the table with the die hards.

Nothing casual about how much I want Eurotards to lose. Enough to make me support Messi against them. It’s deep.

Real Madrid "fan" and Crynaldo worshipper now decides to flip allegiance after finally realizing they're both trash and he can no longer deny Messi's the goat. Hate to see it.
