I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

I don’t think I’d go that far. By all accounts he’s targeting the middle of the field. That in and of itself shows growth.

And in 3 years time, he'll get to the left side of the field 😉

Watched all the clips in that thread. The issues are Jalen not keeping his eyes downfield, leaving the pocket too early, and not synching his dropback to the play. Seems like it's all on Jalen to me. There's a wide open receiver in every clip except one.

Blaming that performance on play calling doesn’t ring true for me at all.  When you study Hurts’ stats from the game it shows 23/43 for 258 and 1 TD/2 INT.  Not good but not horrible at first glance (and comically similar to Dak’s output in their playoff loss).

Looking at pass distribution, however, Sirianni gave Hurts 12 throws at or behind the LOS. Easy throws, and the good news is Hurts completed all 12 throws.  The bad news is Hurts was 11/31 on all throws beyond the LOS.  I don’t care what the play calling looks like — the offense isn’t going anywhere at 11/31.

It’s probably fair to say Sirianni and Steichen got out coached by Bowles, but the Eagles were severely hamstrung in the game by poor QB play.

And if we do see a lot of throws to the middle of the field this year it’s going to queue up the debate on Hurts’ arm strength or lack thereof again.  It’s no accident Hurts doesn’t use the middle of the field much; he doesn’t put any zip or velocity on his throws and he isn’t capable IMO of fitting throws into tight windows.

Hopefully Hurts will prove me wrong but I have concerns

BTW, I’d say the same thing (I have) to someone who was defending another poster who posted "crazy liberals”.

and yet you feel that your self-righteousness is perfectly acceptable to tell people what to think and where to go...give it a rest...you take everything too seriously

Yup.  And there is more going on in the middle too; so he has to process what is going on.

I would say keep politics in CVON. Way too divisive again; we should agree to disagree on principle and if people want  to talk it (and fair enough), keep it out of the blog.

Gracious! Such hostility! Nothing slanted about your opinions and slights. Just out and out insults.

I tried with you, but I see it was for naught.

4for4 always making new friends

The political bs is really tiring here. Used to be the one rule.

I think this is true. If Hurts doesn't miss Watkins for that TD, it's a different game. It might have backed Bowles off a bit. Afterwards, it was an onslaught.

I think the "golden mean" exists in most places in the U.S. as well if we turn off most of the "news" stations on TV and reroute Twitter and Facebook's "news" content to /dev/null unread.

Doesnt put any zip or velocity on his throws and can't fit into tight windows.  That's one thing he can do well is he can loft a pass or he can put zip on it.  He isn't Nick Foles out there only capable of lofting passes.

Which player or players are you most excited to see tomorrow?  I'm anxious to see the non-starting defensive backs, specifically, Josh Jobe, Jared Mayden, Reed Blankenship, Mario Goodrich and the rest of the low investment DBs.  Joe Flacco is Wilson's backup and if he plays could really give the younger DB a good test.  Also excited to see how Nakobe Dean and Cam Jurgens step up. Tarron Jackson should play a lot as there is next to no DE depth and BG/Sweat will be out of pads by the first commercial break.  I hope they play Reagor a lot too.

Refer to @4for4EaglesNest post above mine for your answer. And nice troll attempt throwing Foles into the convo

No, I have him on ignore and no desire to read any of his posts. There's not a more immature person on this site.

First team offense and defense first and foremost.

After that I'm excited to see what Dean looks like because he seems like a player that would be better in actual games then practices with no hitting and tackling.  Interested to see Sinnett since he lit up preseason last year for the Dolphins.  Also want to see Pascal since he has been impressing in the short time since he finally started practicing.

Mr T. By some accounts he’s the most improved player in camp and shining more than Milton Williams. He was so nonexistent last year I pretty much wrote him off.

Last year he looked like he didn’t belong in an NFL camp. He was dominated in the preseason. Legitimately one of the worst players I remember watching.
