A small back is going to hold the team back more than Hurts.

That was a good one.

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

Yes 4for4.  Go find yourself a nice flat surface and lie down.

The small back thing is going to hold the Eagles back much more than Hurts, on 3rd and shorts a big back is more likely to keep the chains moving moreso than a small back, I have no idea why the organization can't figure this out, afterall, it was the big backs that played a big role in the Eagles only SB win.

The dumb sheets had better draft Chris Rodriguez from Kentucky in 2023.

Don't agree. A back who hits quick behind Mailata and Dickerson will do better than a bigger guy who's slower to the hole.

And the ignorance continues.

I hope he never makes the Hall of Fame

Lock him up and throw away the key before he legitimately hurts someone.  Absolute nutjob.

We're talking about keeping the chains moving on 3rd and short situations, on those plays the defense is expecting a running play thus they have more men in the box and the back is likely to encounter contact before the first down marker, a big downhill runner is more likely to produce a new set of downs instead of a punt.

Apparently I'm communicating with the Madden generation because you guys don't know jack.

This is the one instance in which squat-king Hurts is an advantage for the Birds. Don't need a big back in this scenario. However, I like a big back for the power game in the second half. I think that is a need and would take advantage of the O line.

So does the term "holding the Eagles back" not mean it is more important?

No, holding back does not mean more important, "more important" was an attempt by you to twist what I wrote and I ain't going for it.

Playing Jets the first pre-season game feels weird. It was always the light at the end of the tunnel for training camp, and the day or two after would be 53 cut down day.

I checked Pro Football Reference and it's the first time since 2001 that Eagles/Jets was not scheduled in the last week of the pre-season.

I can't believe year after year the Eagles pass on down hill power runners, it's baffling to me.

The world feels upside down.

That AB tweet was an all-timer. His HoF speech will be as equally entertaining as it will be nauseating.

McCoy, Montgomery, and Westbrook are the best backs in the modern era. Perhaps they pass in the draft because the franchise has had more success with this profile of back. Also, DeMarco Murray, Ryan Matthews, Jordan Howard, Jay Ajayi and LeGarrette Blount are all downhill backs. Just because the team doesn't draft them doesn't mean they don't employ them.

RB's in general usually have shorter careers in the NFL- so the value of using high draft picks on them is not a high ROI when compared to Lineman.

Big POwerbacks, have even shorter careers in general.

Yes now someone will find all the outliers and post them here.
