August 9, 20223 yr So they raided a former president's house to verify that there weren't any other documents like the ones he turned into the archive. This is either extreme incompetence or at worst something I don't even want to think about. Either way they just fired up his supporters and gave him a podium. This is beyond stupid. https://news.yahoo.com/lawyers-received-instructions-secure-trumps-031625178.html Quote Sources told ABC News the search was related to 15 boxes of documents Trump took from the White House to Mar-a-Lago resort following the end of his presidency. During the FBI's search Monday morning, the agency was verifying that no other documents were still at the resort after the National Archives retrieved the documents in February, a source told CNN.

Almost every report thus far has stated the boxes they left with included classified materials.

It's because he was president that it took this long for the DoJ to determine they couldn't let it slide. As it should. Bringing a POTUS or former POTUS into a criminal investigation cannot be taken lightly. In the end, this may end up being the right move for the country but there is a great risk both now and in the future as a result. Particularly if they actually go thru with everything, take him to trial, and convict him.

Second, that article say she turned some things in and that raid was to verify nothing else was there. They evidently went there once without the dog and pony show and he turned stuff in. Do things quietly that doesn't result with him having another podium, that doesn't fire up his supporters, and doesn't seem like we are becoming a banana republic. Optics matter. This was pure stupidity.

August 9, 20223 yr everyone out there can debate who is to blame, but the fact is, this country is a f'ng circus.

He's not a lifetime dictator that can do whatever he wants for as long as he's alive.
August 9, 20223 yr I mean, if this is all a witch hunt and they had no probable cause.... Trump could prove that right now by releasing a copy of the warrant. It would say what they were looking for, and why they searched his home. If it's all BS, Trump could prove that right now. He could show what they were looking for, and also what they took.
