July 14, 20242 yr Just now, DrPhilly said: No doubt they are already thinking about the break. Let’s see if they can wake up and get a W in any case. Gonna need at least 5 now after that HR. That’s if the rest of the pen holds up. Imo Was always going to be a game where they needed to score 7-8. Feels much like game 1 where guys aren’t locked in on a team they should be beating up on
July 14, 20242 yr Again, why the F are you pitching to the one guy on their team that’s consistently good. I don’t even care if it’s runners at first and second no outs. The rest of that team isn’t good enough as a unit to worry about them. The one guy that could do damage is the guy you keep pitching too that keeps doing damage
July 14, 20242 yr 8-8 13-3 (21-11) 13-3 (34-14) 11-5 (45-19) 8-8 (53-27) 9-7 (62-34) Losing 2 of 3 to the garbage A's at home was pretty lame.

Going to be 25-20 since May 24 when they played the Rockies. They really haven’t played as well as they did prior. They have also lost series to Rockies, giants, and As (3-6). And split a series with the marlins. As great as the dodgers series was, the dodgers also didn’t pitch Yamamoto, glasnow or kershaw. Add on down betts and muncy. I’d add their series win vs. the dbacks they didn’t get gallen and at some point Kelley is coming back. With the Padres they also missed Dylan cease. I get the Phillies have had some injuries. So I can respect the fact, Harper and Schwarber were out. But their games like the Rockies series they had no business losing. And this series they should’ve teed off on Oakland starting pitching the entire series. Oakland is terrible. Frankly it comes down to I think they overlooked Oakland to get to the All-Star break and they thought they were just gonna steamroll this team and be fine. And now you find yourself losing two of three because you didn’t have the same attitude that you did for the dodgers
July 14, 20242 yr We can paint the picture as negative as we want but let's not forget the injuries that piled up and the fact that we've held/grown the gap vs. the Braves and all the other top teams in the league during that period. In any case, the A's have four absolute bombs today. Edit: ...and add one cheapy while I'm typing.
July 14, 20242 yr Why are we bringing in Matt strahm now? You’re down six runs. Just use Ruiz and let him just go into his arm falls off because you’re not winning this game anyways. No reason to bring in guys when there’s no point and risk injury and adding more innings onto them.

July 14, 20242 yr Is it 5 or 6 massive bombs? I've lost count. 7 total but at least one was just a fly ball that got over the wall.
July 14, 20242 yr If the pirates hold on to win today, the Phillies play every game from after the break til August 12 against a team at or over .500. At pirates (3), at twins (3), vs. guardians (3), vs. Yankees (3), at mariners (3), at dodgers (3) and at dbacks (4)

July 14, 20242 yr It will be interesting to see the total distance of the A's HRs today. It is going to be a rather large number.

The pirates series you are likely facing Skenes for one of those games. Probably a L and Sanchez and Phillips are pitching that series. (Guessing they go nola, Sanchez and then Phillips). Sanchez has been bad on the road and Phillips is what he is. Pirates have been playing really well and have a lot of momentum going. Twins series is against a better team but your matchups are better with wheeler, Suarez and nola. Probably go 3-3 On that road trip. if the rotation holds you are gonna likely have Sanchez, Phillips and wheeler vs the guardians. Then Suarez, Nola and Sanchez for Yankees. Probably can be 4-2 during that stretch. So sitting at 7-5 before the long 10 game road trip. I’d be surprised if they went 5-5 on that trip. Phillips, wheeler and Suarez for mariners. Probably could go 2-1 if we get wheeler and Suarez pitching like they can. then Sanchez, Phillips and nola vs. dodgers. Dodgers likely have betts back and chance you face glasnow when he’s back. Probably go 1-2. Finished with 4 at dbacks where outside of last year in June the Phillies have had a house of horrors (wheeler, Suarez, Nola and Phillips) over the last 7 years. Feels like match up wise they probably should split 2-2 but i tend to think they’ll go 1-3. I’m guessing they go 4-6. Be 11-11.
