July 26, 20241 yr Umm why are we dealing Dominguez when we already have bullpen issues? there’s your marsh platoon. He hits LHP at .328 and RHP at .204. He has 3 HRs on the year…

If they would happen to trade a for a frontline starter they could always move either Ranger or Sanchez to the pen too.

I could see a 4/5th starter like lorenzen and a BP. They frankly likely want to go to a 6 man rotation.

So never going to be a power hitter. But can get you 15-20 also add into this he has a year left of arbitration. So likely getting a marsh and Hayes platoon next year.

Pretty sure we have the whitest team in the majors

Would have preferred Lane Thomas but this will do. Any insight on his defense? This assuredly means a significant bullpen add IMO.

Above average fielder. I rather had lane Thomas too but Hays basically ensures marsh is in a platoon in 2025 and he’s cheap. I wouldn’t entirely be shocked that the Phillies want go to a six man rotation at some point to have it be less taxing on their staff. Not sure they trust Walker or Philips. So I think they’ll get one they do and let the other two guys battle it out and if one fails just use the other. I tend to think they get 1 BP arm and 1 back end of the rotation starter
July 26, 20241 yr Combined numbers for Marsh vs RHP and Mays vs LHP are: .291/.368/.487 (.855 OPS) with 10HR and 41 RBI

That ball is normally a play he would run into the wall to catch (vs. twins) and then Thomson saying he’s dealing with it after the game.
July 26, 20241 yr Hays has only played in 44 games since May and 125 PAs (112 AB) but his slashes since May are .313/.363/.509/.872
July 26, 20241 yr Thinking more about this I don’t think this precludes them from going out and getting a centerfielder. They might move Rojas into the Christian pache role. And then go with the platoon with left field, whoever they get in centerfield and Castellanos in RF. But late game situations, you can have the platoon in left, your centerfielder and Rojas in right field. Which makes your defense really good in late game situations. Do i think it’s likely? Probably not. But I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if there’s a centerfielder on the market that they think they can acquire and not give up the farm for
July 26, 20241 yr In all honestly we have a bunch of inconsistent fireballers in our bullpen. Don't really trust any of them besides Strahm and Hoffman at this point.
