Obviously it doesn’t feel good but there is a long way to go. A lot can happen between now and October and if we somehow manage to get hot at the plate then there is at worst a puncher’s chance.

i don’t think we are as bad as we’ve looked since the A’s series. But i also don’t think we are anywhere close to the type of run we got on in April and most of May. I don’t think the SP was ever going to keep the pace they were on. Ranger, Nola and Sanchez were due for a regression 

imo the dbacks are a better constructed roster. They have the SP with Kelly and Rodriguez back. They have a solid bullpen (imo their weakness). Their lineup doesn’t have the brand names but they have depth and guys that fit their roles. And Carroll is begin to heat up after being bad most of the year. I’d be surprised (unless some major injuries hit) if they don’t get back to the nlcs. 

and they have great coaching staff, something the phillies never put stock in since charlie left.

I see that Taijuan Walker is starting tomorrow. I'm sure they'll steamroll the Marlins.

Curious to see how the Phillies finish the season these next 44 games. Part of me thinks they go on a run. The other part of me thinks they are just going to play around .500. I lean toward them going 22-22. Which means they finish 91-71. I’m guessing that means they are likely the 3 seed and facing whoever he 6 seed is.

Bohm, schwarber, casty and Rojas about the only ones consistent since then. And at some point likely casty is going into an cold spell

I find it funny on Twitter the amount of people that defend Brandon Marsh when he has the same three Fing problems he had with the Angels. One of the issues he had with the Angels was he struck out too much. This year as the season has gone on he has gotten significantly worse than what he was at the beginning of this year and last year. The last three months his strikeout percentage has been 37, 38 and 40. That is really bad. It was an issue that the Angels had with him and couldn’t fix.

The second problem he had with the Angels was he couldn’t hit left-handed pitching consistently. He still can’t hit left-handed pitching consistently. He has had multiple hitting coaches in four years to try to figure that out he still hasn’t.

Lastly, he was never as good as centerfielder defensively as it was led to believe when he was a prospect. When he got to the majors, he showed that he probably wasn’t gonna be a really good Defensive center. Is likely closer to being average. It’s why he’s much better in left field. So the three things that he had going against him with the angels he still Fing has after 2 years

I for one am happy that this will force major changes this offseason.  Time to move on from some of these guys.  
If someone offers a big package for Bryce, Trea, Schwarber, JT, Nola, or Ranger than I’m all for it.  They will never win with these guys.

No one is gonna trade for JT. And he has one year left. So I’m guessing he’s back next year and likely a platoon with Marchan.

also no one is trading anything worthwhile for nola who’s got 6 years left on the deal. Especially since June 1st his numbers are closer to 2023. They’ll bring him back for that reason.

bryce has a NTC so he’d have to waive it to be traded. Doubtful.

schwarber has value. But he’s on the last year of his deal some I’m guessing he just walks at the end of the year if he’s gone 

trea you might be able to move but still has 8 years left on his deal. You’d probably not get value for him and i don’t see him being dealt.

if they fail I’m guessing you are going to see an upgrade form marsh. I’d say upgrade from Rojas but i think the reason they kept Crawford is to ultimately take over that CF spot. More likely a major upgrade in LF. Likely going to see a revamped BP where Alvarado is gone. Estevez is gone. Probably strahm, Kerkering and Hoffman as the only 3 back. Try to trade Walker somewhere and go painter as the 5th starter 

 

Feels like a good opportunity to bet on him teeing off on Walker

Had that problem last night with DK. Was updated this morning. Not sure what’s going on with betonline. But burger having a +310 for hitting a homer is juicy with Walker on the mound 

Both Ian happ or arozerena would’ve been nice  happ’s avg is low but since mid May he’s hitting around .250 which is better than most of the Phillies team for the season
