I'm saying he is better than Stott for right now. Even when exposed, I would classify Sosa as a bad offensive baseball player who at least looks semi- competent. Stott this whole season looks like a guy who has never faced live pitching in his life. So yeah, I'm picking the better of two stiffs.

Sosa has better numbers against righties than Stott does where it should be the opposite. Yes, I know Stott has more plate appearances than Sosa does but if I'm being honest, I'd rather have Sosa getting most of the at-bats and if you want to sprinkle Stott in twice a week, fine. I actually think Stott should be sent to Lehigh Valley for a couple of weeks but they won't do that.

Only way he’s going to get back to 2023 is playing him and getting him out of his funk. It ultimately could crush his confidence if you just bench him and that could be something they don’t want to do for his long term future. With Sosa you know there’s a lower ceiling and he’s not going to get any better than what he is. so it’s strictly just playing him to help be better now. I’d just platoon stott until he snaps out of it and if he doesn’t then just play Sosa in a platoon. Sosa is eventually going to regress closer to his mean playing everyday. i think marsh is more deserving of being sent down. His strikeout rate is absolutely ridiculous. now he can’t hit righties or lefties. Stott has been bad but he’s nowhere close to the strikeout rate marsh is and I’d argue marsh has been worse since July. His numbers don’t look worse cause he was actually insane for 3 games vs. dodgers. Otherwise his numbers are even worse than Stott

You just don’t trade top prospects for guys you have to fix to get the value out of. If you are trading a catching prospect who’s a top 75 player you better be getting a proven commodity. Not a guy you have to fix. Frankly part of me thinks they didn’t want Robert Jr cause the price was high and the didn’t want to trade those type of prospects away and get burned like they are with marsh.
