October 5, 20241 yr This team was the polar opposite of the last 2 seasons where they get off to slow starts and get hot later. This year they got really hot early and then died down for 100 games after that. This team is the worst entering the postseason the last 3 seasons now. Should’ve beat the Astros

This goes back to their offseason and deadline. If you believed Austin hays and whit Merrifield were fixing the issues you had then you deserve the fate you get. Dombrowski and Phillies deserved what they got for not going all in and actually acquiring a bat in FA or deadline that could make a difference.

Their answer for hitting woes was fixing chase rate and signing Merrifield. That was never the solution that was going to work. Then their big acquisition for the offense at the deadline was Austin hays. Another mediocre fix to their problems. When the Phillies actually realize long is not that great of a hitting coach and actually decide to go all in maybe they’ll win. But they went cheap route and have the same issues
