They lost with their ace on the mound against essentially a bullpen. F them all

Wheeler doesn't deserve this BS offense every year in the playoffs. It's embarrassing.

Yeah, as a fan I'm glad he re-signed. He should have said screw this team and just went to FA. He could have gone to a team that doesn't choke offensively plus gotten paid a lot more than what he got with the Phillies.

Still think padres make it out of the NL. Even losing Musgrove they still have cease, darvish and king. Their 4th starter is still better than most teams 4th.

So glad that I switched the channel to the Alabama/Vanderbilt game

I don't want to hear anymore how great of home field advantage CBP is. Not anymore. They've lost 5 out of their last 6 home post season games.

Not surprised.  Mets are the red hot team right now

High priced losers

Good thing that the Eagles have off this weekend so that we can all focus our angst and hatred at the Phillies general level of suckitude.

Sixers were once a great homecourt advantage until the hawks series where they lost 3 of 4.

I look at it this way, before the season started I said they’re gonna lose in the NLDS because they sat around all off-season and didn’t make moves to get better besides whit Merrifield. They needed more than that. They sat there like they were just going to be better. Bring everybody back and everybody was gonna be better and not chase. The rest of the national league caught up to you. The Padres are significantly better than what they were last year and even two years ago. The Dodgers arr better even with the injuries than they were last year. The Mets are better than what they were last year. If Atlanta didn’t have all the injuries, they too would’ve been better because they had Chris sale added. The only team I could say that didn’t get better that made the playoffs that didn’t have more talent then 2023 was the brewers

at the deadline when they were struggling, they had a chance to add a big player onto this team to try to put them over the top and regain the juice they had in April and May. They sat around and added Austin Hayes, which is just another Merrifield type guy who was not going to sufficiently change your season outlook. Frankly it was as ridiculous as thinking Castro was going to be good last year.

and then this goes all the way back to when Rhys Hoskins got hurt, that was supposed to be a major player in your lineup. It gave you depth. Losing out on 26-30 HRs and 80 RBIs isn’t something you just have everyone else make up. You needed to replace it and you failed to do it in 2023 and 2024.

as for the bullpen, this felt like because the offense didn’t do anything and kept the Mets in the game that the Mets were just waiting for Wheeler to leave the game because they knew they weren’t scoring off them. As soon as Wheeler left the game it was like a monkey off their back and getting to see anybody else but him. Offense allowing it to stay close allowed for the Mets to just hold out hope for when wheeler left the game

Philadelphia teams really do make it hard to stay a fan.  Been a sports fan since ‘80 (12 years old) and it just seems for every championship, you get 20 years of misery.

Ummm…Der … I don’t and haven’t ever played baseball and go back to my previous post, I fing said our team shouldn’t even take the bats off of their shoulders

It is a great advantage, but a sports crowd can't will a bunch of ******* to win an IQ test if ya get my drift.

Keep the f'ing bats on your shoulders!  I was screaming this in game 6 and 7 last year.....they were swinging at pitches that were like.....

See….

They can blame the shadows all they want, but this wasn’t a shadow problem. This is some of the same crap they’ve had problems with all Fing season besides April and May. The only time they really didn’t have this problem was the first two months of the year. Since that Rockies and Giants road trip it’s been much of the same outside of a couple weeks.

The biggest mistake the Phillies made was just thinking your team was going to fix their chase rate problem in the off-season. Most of your guys that are older are who they are. That’s what you’re gonna get from them. The young guys you might have had a chance to fix, but then again I look at Brandon marsh as the perfect example. You got Brandon marsh 2.5 years ago. He had a high strikeout rate and couldn’t hit left-handed pitching. Long and the Phillies have worked with him for 2.5 years, he has the same Fing problems. So I gotta say at some point in time what the F is your hitting coach doing with these young players to get them better. I would argue Bohm has gotten worse over the course of the year. And Bryson Stott has regressed from last year. So what are you doing to get the young guys better and how are you getting through to your older guys because it doesn’t seem like anything you’ve done as Made guys better for this situation

Since the game starts the same time tomorrow, what Trea is saying is expect the same.

All I know is this, if they lose this series, they might become the 2012 Phillies after their great 2011. This isn’t a young team. Schwarber, Harper, Turner, Castanos, Realmuto, Nola and Wheeler are older players in baseball terms. They’re all in their mid 30s. There’s a chance that wheeler not the same after this year and he starts tailing off like Lee and halladay did shortly after 2011. There’s a chance that happens with Nola. Both of them have a ton of innings on them. And then you have older hitters that might start to regress even more and injuries start occurring more and more. then you look at the young guys like stott, marsh, bohm and Rojas, none of them are cornerstone players. They are good solid players in a lineup, but they aren’t franchise changers. They are solid pieces around those big guys that might begin to regress even more. Even if miller, painter and Crawford work out, they are young and will take time. There’s a chance this is the last run of this group and might be a couple season til they get back to being a legit contender

With an offense as inconsistent as theirs is, they aren’t a legit contender now either.  I’m fine with trading some of these guys next year and trying to get a head start on a rebuild.
