I think there's an argument to be made that this group are better blockers on the whole.

I stand by my statement... Ertz, Celek and Burton over Goedert, Stoll and Calcaterra.  And not even close.

I'd take 2017 Ertz over 2022 Goedert.  2017 Celek over 2022 Stoll.  2017 Burton over 2022 Calcaterra.   None of the 3 are actually better than their counterpart from the previous year.  Yes, Goedert is a better blocker than Ertz was.  Ertz was a dramatically better receiver than Goedert.  I'd likely take Celek TODAY over Stoll.  Stoll is a JAG.  Nothing special there at all.  Celek was a beast as a blocker and people forget just how good he actually was in the passing game, because he was eclipsed by Ertz.  Celek when he was younger was just as good, if not actually slightly better than Goedert is right now.  And there's just no comparison between Burton and Calcaterra.  There's a reason he was given a big contract as a free agent right after that season.  The shame for him was going to the Bears, followed by the injuries that ended it for him.

I guess Burrow backed out

They wouldn't acquiese to his demand that the name of the game be changed to the Pro Burrow Bowl

Foles had 971 yards passing in that playoff run, Eagles need 289 yards in the Super Bowl for their total offense in the playoffs to match Foles passing yards.

Eagles need 479 yards in the Super Bowl to match the total offense of the 2017 Eagles playoff run.

Through 2 playoff games, the 2022 Eagles total offense is 87 more yards than Foles passing yardage through two games.

I think if the Eagles have 500 yard of offense in the Super Bowl you should have to get a Jalen Hurts tattoo.  If they do not get 500 yards, then @RememberTheKoy has to get a Nick Foles tattoo.

RBs are close for me but Blount would be devastating behind this line and adding him over Sanders makes sense.  I don't know that I would take Ajayi and Clement over Gainwell and Scott at this point.

Gainwell and Scott have been killing it but Clement killed it as well in the playoffs and go back and watch how explosive Ajayi was all year long.

You guys are missing the real debate, who would win head to head:. 2017 Eagles vs. 2022 Eagles

I think you’re letting nostalgia cloud your memory, and are severely undervaluing Goedert

I think Goedert and Andrews are the two fighting for 2nd and 3rd best TE, and both are better than Ertz ever was.

You could try to make that argument for me regarding Celek.  Not so for Ertz.  He was a dominant force as a receiver and 2017 was his coming out party.

I think you have a bit of recency bias regarding Ertz because of how it ended here.

Curious, who is your #1 TE?  Kelce or Kittle?

Damar Hamlin killed modern football

I guess this is one benefit of being a "home" team in the Super Bowl.

Isn't that exactly what the evidence would suggest?

Kelce and it’s not close. Kelce has no equal, nobody even close to him in receiving ability and YAC ability. And he’s not as bad a blocker as I think many in here think. He will be the best TE ever, only rivaled by Gronk, who would be better if his career lasted longer.

Id slot Kittle 4th….very similar to Goedert, but unfortunately Kittle is just too brittle to rank higher. Kittle is a better YAC guy than Goedert. I think DG is a better blocker.

Weird because I thought we were all in agreement that the league was self-imploding and basically on the verge of collapse. Not sure how to reconcile this now.

Ertz is a more reliable receiver but Goedert is far more dynamic after the catch.  Goedert is also a far better blocker than Ertz was and that's important in this offense. I see that as a wash.    I would take Stoll and Calcaterra as blockers over Celek and Burton.  Celek and Burton were both better receivers at this point in their careers.  I don't think Celek ever was a good as Goedert as a receiver but he was good.  I don't think he was the same player in 2017 as a blocker or receiver.

I’d give it to 2022 because Brown and Smith would toast Mills and Darby
