Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

My understanding of that is that injuries would allow one team to go into a game with an advantage of more healthy bodies available to play. Obviously nothing can be done after the fact, but it’s an attempt to keep things even going into the game.

Given the better IR system it seems less likely that a team would have 5 players that aren't healthy for the game.  I wonder if some teams will push for a rule change.

Meh NS sideline antics could rub some the wrong way. But I don’t think he’s "in for a free ride” at all.

Your feelings have nothing to do with the outcome of the game. Quite frankly I don't get why everyone is dismissing K.C. they are nothing to sneeze at

I think the Eagles match up really well with KC. There’s just one giant, mitigating factor….Mahomes.

i also have a football question. in all seriousness; does the Dline have to engage their counterpart once the center snaps the ball? could the dline time it right and take a step to the side or back once the ball is snapped, meaning the oline would be off balance and even possible take themselves down to the ground ? if so and done randomly, I would think this would get in the oline's head and they would waste a precious second to check and be sure they are being engaged.

I like the way you think

Who said my feeling had anything to do with the outcome of the game? That's' your projection.   I was simply stating I was nervous before Super Bowl LII and we won.   I was nervous before Super Bowl XXXIX and we loss.  My point was this time I don't feel the same way as the other two times.   Also how is saying we are the better team dismissing KC?  I just feel we are better.

And Mahomes just beat the second best team in the AFC on a bum ankle, that he now has two weeks to get right.

Mahomes and Kelce are the two biggest X factors in this game.

Mahomes had 20 TD's and 5 interceptions against playoff teams in the regular season.

Kelce averaged 7.5 catches for 90 yards against playoff teams in the regular season.

The NFL is not the NBA; as @mattwill asserts, a head coach in basketball is not as vital to the team's success as in other sports.  Assemble 3 star players and you're a contender in the NBA.

The NFL is worlds apart.  You have to manage a 53-man roster and keep everyone in check and focused on a week-to-week basis.  You've got to keep the AJ Brown's of the team engaged in a team philosophy.  The Eagles DL on its own is 8-9-10 players deep -- you don't think those guys ever complain to the coach they want more snaps?  I assume Love is suggesting that Jalen Hurts' development happened just because he decided on his own he wanted to be a good player?

The Eagles' active roster has 26 players who are 25 or younger.  It's not just a bunch of veteran players who win by themselves.

I don't know if that strengthens your argument, as mattwill has suggested multiple times this week we should do an NBA type sign and trade deal with Isaac Seumalo.

I will address the outright lie first.

First off, the 85 Bears regular season was not the sack record, it was the 12th overall regular season sack total.  The 84 Bears were #1, and the 87 Bears were tied for 3rd with the 2022 Eagles.

Those teams also played less regular season games.

Secondly, I will assume you are adding playoff sacks to regular season to come up with this, which is also false.  Here is the total sacks for those 4 teams including playoff games.  Eagles still rank 3rd, and to break the 84 Bears record, they will have played two more games, and still need 5 sacks.

What team was 28th in passer rating allowed and gave up a league high 33 passing TDs?

The same team was 22nd in turnovers created on D.

They were 18th in yards per carry allowed.

I'm so scared that a good team might beat this all-time talented Eagles team!!!

Round 3? Normally, I'm pro due diligence, but this is Irsay, so they're just confused.

If a millionaire sends his wife to a road playoff game after a local statue was desecrated by his knuckle-dragger fans without any sort of bodyguard or support group then that millionaire is an idiot. Its interesting that all these losers cry about people throwing things at them but not one cell phone video exists. The name calling is real and it happens everywhere. As to the actual most violent fans in America...

The 49ers and Raiders were banned from playing each other in the preseason over extreme violence in meaningless preseason games. In the regular season they had about 100 undercover officers in road gear so they could arrest criminals in the stands.

KC will be well prepared.  I think we underestimate Spags and his ability to use blitzes and disguise coverages.  I think the best approach will likely to be to focus on running the ball.  Mahomes is just the best QB in the League by a pretty big margin.  He will be healthier than he has been the last 2 games.  He will also be hungry for another Championship since he lost the last Super Bowl he appeared in and lost in the AFC Championship game last year.

It's such a good matchup that regardless of whether you're confident or nervous, you can make the argument that you're right either way. Top pass defense vs top passing offense. Elite secondary vs elite quarterback. Elite rushing attack vs strong run defense. Strong DL vs strong OL. etc.

I find myself pinballing between calm confidence and the anxiousness of having to watch what I know will inevitably a very hard fought and very close game. Sure wish the game was this weekend instead of next, it'll be tough to keep my mind occupied for the next 10 days.
