Hurts extension will have minimal impact on the 2023 cap.

Depends on the signing bonus amount.

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Slay is not under contract for 2024

You're right. I misread the void years.

Slay feels like an extension candidate that Howie will want to keep around. I'm not sure it's a great idea.

The Professor was undoubtedly impotent.  I'm sure he was interested but simply couldn't 'deposit his check'

As a little kid it was Ginger or Mary Ann; as an adult my thoughts were always "Ginger AND Mary Ann".  I was a greedy ****.

Farm Girl would never agree to that. More's the Pity......Maybe with a few more years on the Island with those eunichs...

I really think the smart thing to do is bring Bradberry back on a 3-year deal and trade Slay.  You're the cap guru...am I wrong in the way I look at Slay's contract and how much it jumps up?  Looks like his salary bumps to $26 million next year.  Wouldn't it be wise to trade the older of the two and then use the money on bringing Bradberry back?

I posted yesterday an article talking another Emmanuel Moseley and some rumors connecting the eagles too him coming off an injury.

This is good news regarding MNF. Dumb for TNF

Sunday can't get here soon enough, the wait for the SB is just intolerable.

It would have to be a Jordan Hicks like deal Arizona gave him. Had a $9M APY back in 2018. Now I'd guess it would have to be north of $11M APY.

@downundermike's spreadsheet of projected contracts (I believe the sourec was Daniel Jeremiah on NFL.com but I could be wrong about that) had Edwards at $13.5 million APY.

I wonder if I can use the purchase of the commandoes as a reason to get my wife to cancel our amazon prime membership.

I'll miss Dan Snyder.  It's been fun having the Danny around.  Redskins are always off season champs and never a huge threat.

I'm curious how a Bezos ownership would play out.  Amazon claims to be 'customer obsessed', and providing fans a bit better of an experience would certainly be a change.

Yeah, the ILB franchise tag jumped enormously after the Roquan Smith deal, it’s now over 20m$ which is insane. That will heavily influence FA contracts. something like 13m$ is not out of the question, which is now a competitive offer for a not-quite-pro-bowl player at that position.

Smith's new contract definitely jumped up the 2022 amount of $17.6M

Yea, I have a lot of questions about that article and where they come up with the valuations. I just can't see Edwards getting a bigger deal than Bradberry or CJGJ

Lets pump the breaks a little. They haven't even seen my bid yet.

I don't think we're keeping Sanders at $7.5M, either.  There are 9 NFL RBs who will have cap numbers over $10M for next season.

You will have to break the $25.00 threshold.

So, we all seem to be concerned right now with how Howie will try to set up our roster after we win our second Lombardi.

Retain Bradbury, Epps, Blankenship, offer Slay an aging player prove it deal. Young secondary guys will play Sunday, so prove it.

Let Suh, Linval and Quinn walk, especially Quinn, by the by. Swing and a miss, oh well. Barnett? See ya, and your penalty ridden ass.

Offense a different story. More about who can we talk into staying than who we want to leave.

Miles may be done or his number may make him untenable. Gainwell a keeper. Send Calc down the road, maybe Stoll, too.

O Line? Can everybody stay? Looking at you, Jordan  Dickerson, Jason, Isaac, Lane, ... Backups continue under Stout...

Draft the TE replacements, keeping Joe Dirt, of course.

Not a "Keep the window open" thing, just a plan to retain your best players...How will Howie pivot?

So what we're looking at will most likely be a restructure and extension of 32 year old corner?

I think play out the contract as is is more likely, and then make a decision 12 months from now about what is next.  That could mean a total $13,798,000 Dead Cap hit after the the 2023 season is complete.

1 hour ago, bpac55 said:

All of the dead cap and void stuff confuses the hell out of me.  Is there any way to get out of paying Slay $26 million for 2023?

Yes, but it would entail a $22 million total Cap hit to do so ... and have no player on the roster as well.

I've got a secret investment partner currently fundraising through you shmucks purchasing Eagles merchandise using the proper affiliate links. We've got this in the bag.

I like Kyzir White better than most but assume he'll be gone.  I don't like committing any money to Epps; let him go.  CJGJ is a must-keep, even over Bradberry.

I'm not convinced Edwards will get a big offer anywhere.  Howie might be able to re-sign him.

Agree with your views on the DL.  I'd like to keep Hargrave and lose Cox.

What an awful statement

I thought he oversold it. Wouldn’t call it a flop though
