Just hoping Lane can actually make it through

That’s a huge question. It’s why Driscoll is so important in all of this. He need to be ready to go in case lane can’t. I get he’s coming in cold but it’s a huge spot. He has to be able to step in and really just play competently. That said i feel like hurts and oline has to be better with blitz recognition and pickup especially against the giants who might blitz a lot more if their front four isn’t having success early

Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

Contrary to what some have opined on this board, Driscoll will be fine.

Here is a look at how the oline played against the Saints, with a focus on Driscoll.

https://www.footballoutsiders.com/word-muth/2023/eagles-collapse-team-wide-effort

It was written by a former Stanford tackle who was all pac 10, so someone who knows a little about football. He thinks Driscoll was fine against the Saints, so a little different opinion than what some people have said around these parts.

I actually don’t think Driscoll has been as bad as some have said. I think he’s fine. He’s just not ever going to be lane Johnson. We are fortunate we have had lane and he’s played as great as he has. Whoever eventually takes over is likely never gonna touch how great he’s been.

The giants game, the giants routinely kept blitzing with their backups.  it looked like everyone on the eagles had issues with blitz pickup and recognition. It wasn’t Driscoll only. The saints game the eagles offense in general didn’t do a very good job. Hard to single out driscoll when I’d argue there were a lot of issues. minshew really didn’t help matters either. I said then i thought at least 2-3 of the sacks given up were on minshew. I thought the oline looked worse cause of that. I’m guessing a a gameplan of all systems go with hurts legs/scrambling ability is gonna help the oline out too

The reason why I said what I did is the last 2 games Driscoll started the game. This game if he plays, he’s going to come in off the bench cold. So it might be mid series, late in the game or whenever. Has to be ready and he doesn’t have to be lane. Just competent.

Such bad analysis from Florio.  Just straight Homer.

Isiah Hodgins cancels everything else out🤔  Ok. What does Florio think the Eagles staff was doing while eating Pizza Hut??  They know he had a nice game.  They will be ready for him.

Conveniently ignores Eagles DL vs Giants OL, Eagles secondary vs Giants WR and dare I say a better LB core than they faced in Minnesota.

The Eagles just need to be aggressive on both sides and take care of the football.  Firmly believe if they win the turnover battle they win this game going away.

On O run the rock, establish the line of scrimmage, good yardage situations, then hit them with the big play.  Screens Rbs and TEs mixed in to work against Martindale's aaggressiveness.  If Lane is on, then Hurts should have a clean pocket.

On D, the Eagles need to maintain their pass lanes with push up the middle to limit scrambles.  Not to say that Sweat, Reddick, Graham shouldn't be flying around the end.  Maybe play a little more Cover 3 to have more players short to limit their dink and dunk.  Hope Gannon is a little more inclined to bring pressure as well.

The Eagles have the better players and the better team.  They have their leader, their general, their swag back in Hurts.  He, along with all of the leaders of this veteran team Kelce, Graham, Cox will have them focused on the task at hand.  This veteran team knows that this chance doesn't come around very often and may never again.

The Eagles have had one helluva season but they know that it means nothing without the Lombardi.  This is the first win on their march to that goal and I'll be there with my brothers, dad and uncle to see it!

I read your whole post. Thanks. This sticks out for me. Maybe a Rant, maybe just perspective...

Florio has had a bone up his kazoo about our Eagles since forever.

Had a couple drinks with him at Starters Pub in Lehigh before he was anybody, or affiliated. Last year we trained there, I think.. ( Go Andy)

The year Garret died, anyway, 2012? Sad times.

Anyway, asked why he was there, he said, " research'.

Too slippery for my tastes. A Workman's Comp Lawyer (NTTAWWT) at the time, but just a guy with an agenda, and loved Football.

Actually offered me a job writing commentary for his young Blog, Probably a come-on, I declined. Even put me on the phone with his Web designer, shook that off too.I was there for Eagles Training Camp. With my 86 yr old Dad. Last chance, no distractions.

My bad? Missed a bargain? Maybe not so much. I sill have my Integrity.

Obviously parlayed his Basement Control Center into a really profitable gig. Good for him.

Saddled with Chris Simms, but that's what corporate does to you. Take our loot, we own you.

Florio? You do you. Bless your monetary Heart.....remember the Shrimp.....

Sorry for the "Rant?"....just History.

Study ranks West Virginia last in education

https://www.wboy.com/only-on-wboy-com/wboy-com-lists-and-rankings/study-ranks-west-virginia-last-in-education/

I, for one, am absolutely shocked at the outcome of this study.

The rankings on education for states tracks closely with poverty rates.  Sure seems we could do better as a country on conquering poverty and its ills.  Great crime fighting tool as well. Anybody that has got off the interstates and out of the cities into the hollows in WV has seen beautiful scenery (home to one of our newest National Parks) with pockets of poverty.  Unfortunately, you see repeats of this throughout the US in rural areas

WV is an interesting study in the labor movement history. The company towns and the strikes and how the companies would take everything from the workers.  The violence.  Mother Jones.  Some real interesting US history in the area.  Really fascinating history in the state.

It’s a damn shame what economic depression does to a town/city.  I used to attend management training in North Carolina once per year and sometimes drove past all of the shuttered textile mills.  The whole town looked as though it was nearly shuttered; high crime and poverty go together

Old fashioned don't suck. Respected, actually. Love the dog along, most of em need that. Perfect water. Nice rig.

My South Jersey approach is more vulnerable to the weather, hence a more versatile platform is needed.

Especially if @Godfather is gonna show up with a handfull of Bourbon bottles..must have a decent sized storage locker....

Not a lot of dogs on board around, tho, it seems. Extra props to you.

I don't mess around when it comes to burboun

JFC, Florio moved to NC and is @NCiggles  (JK NC.)

Florio has that Pittsburgh native hate for the Eagles.  But he fails to note Hodgins ankle injury. Disrespects Bradberry or CJGJ.

Noted that the gnats are healthier than the first two times we played.  Guess what?  So are the Eagles.
