Getting ready to walk out the door to head to the stadium. Same thing I said five years ago....when I get home, I'm either going to be really depressed or extremely jubilant. Later gents.

He's only talking about their ability as passers. I don't know why Eagles fans get so bent out of shape over someone's opinion.

Especially when he found out it’s bread and butter by talking bad about Hurts gets him mentioned on every Philly radio/social media.

The more I watch the Bengals, the more I realize what a rock solid team they have. Aside from a bit of a rocky start to the season, they've been playing like one of the best teams in the league. Statistically, they might appear to fly under the radar, but on game days, they seem to pull it together when needed and are a tough ass team to beat. They've beaten the Chiefs the last two times they've played them, and that's when Mahomes was healthier than he is now. If we beat the Niners, I think we'll have our toughest match up yet against them. If we have a clear edge, it's on the defensive side of the ball, but ultimately, I think the game would be decided by coaching. Like the cliche goes, you gotta beat the best to be the best.

Especially when it is Chris "I was a college and not NFL QB who lives off his Daddy's reputation and media connections" Simms. He continually demonstrates that he knows next to nothing and is basically a cartoon character.

I actually really like Chris Simms' podcast. Some people would benefit from taking a step back and realizing they might not know as much football as someone who has spent his whole life playing, being a front office member in New England, and analyzing film for NBC does.

And, "I would take Daniel Jones over Jalen Hurts fits into this narrative how?" This is the same, "it's a system" BS that he pushed all season. Minshew proved its not a system and if Daniel Jones was good, he would be good more often and more consistently. I agree with you for many analysts but Chris Simms is a self-important dolt, IMHO. He is a Nepo-baby in the NFL context.

The Bengals' defense doesn't get talked about enough. Burrow and Chase get all the rightful attention, but that defense was a huge part of their success last year and they're killing it again.

I think most Eagles fans would have a different opinion if they listened to more of Simms' podcasts and not just 30 second clips that go viral. His analysis is pretty good. He's given Hurts plenty of credit this year and thinks very highly of his deep ball.

Yeah but this message board isn’t owned by, sponsored by nor supported by a corporate entertainment industry anymore.  I would suggest as a part of any tinkers getting done as part of the excellent work of @VaBeach_Eagleand the other IT gurus that perhaps it is time to remove most of those PG censorship filters.  Don’t think we have any impressionable children on these boards.  Think of this as being like the Kelce brothers Podcast or Chris Long’s. If they can use the words, then so should we be able to do so. The irony is the use of "locker room talk” for most of the terms the censoring IT masks.

I'm open to the discussion and decision, whichever way it may be made. I'd invite @Moderator12 @Moderator6 @Moderator4 @Moderator2 and  @Moderator5 to give their thoughts, if they'd wish to chime in.

I'll give it to you and listen. I have not listened to his podcasts and only catch the soundbites that get attention on social media

Jalen Hurts vs. Brock Purdy: Revisiting the last time NFC title game QBs met, when they had 11 combined TDs

They defend the best QBs better than anyone.

Which is impressive because it’s not exactly a who’s who of names over there.

The NFC championship against Atlanta was the coldest I remember of the playoff games I’ve been too. Icy week, sunny during the day but in the teens the whole time and whipping wind.

At the Vet you had pretty good cover from the wind at least in the 700 level, but the Linc has some bad spots where you are in the swirl the whole game.

The two coldest games I've ever been to are coincidentally the first two NFC Championship games we won. Dallas in 1980 was insanely cold and windy, and that Falcons game was just ridiculous. Curiously the Vikings game was almost balmy. Supposed to be warmer than usual this coming Sunday, so that's good.

Incidentally, yeah we are in the swirl path at the Linc.

48 degrees this Sunday. You all are going to be spoiled. I hate hearing 20% of the tickets are being bought by SF fans though.

I like this Cee Dee Lamb guy.  And Hurts seems like there might be something there.

The board has been fine since the late 90s with the current rules in place. Some of us have kids around as we are posting on the blog during games and at other times. People can get the general idea without having to see things.

So then my plan to begin allowing porn wouldn't be a good idea?

Not for people who want to read the blog at work or on work computers either. It's your baby, but it's all inclusive now. I don't see why there needs to be a change.

Interesting quote from NBC Sports Philadelphia …

everybody who doubted whether the Eagles could be a physical team with short training camp practices, Wednesday walkthroughs and veteran rest days you would think has changed their mind by now.

No matter what happens the rest of this season (meaning even if we go on and win the Super Bowl), I guarantee that there will be fans complaining next August about how soft training camp is and how ridiculous it is that players are given "rest days". And when our starters play one series in the first preseason game and don't play at all in the final preseason game, there will be cries about how unprepared we're going to be for the opener and "Jalen needs the work!"

lol I was kidding, of course.

I'm not sure this has been mentioned, but has anyone ever gotten an explanation as to why Anthony Harris was activated from the practice squad, only to not even be dressed for the game? Was it a paycheck thing? Was there some ulterior motive about free agency status, like, he has be active for a game in order to qualify for inclusion in the free agency signing formula (which I realize won't come into play since he won't be a sought after commodity anyway)?

It just seemed odd to me at the time.

Bonus: DeVonta 100+ and a TD
