I deleted it because I didn't see at first that DawkinsOnage meant it as a race issue post.  But I did post in reply that Matt this weekend tried to claim its all economics as the reason to not re-sign Hurts and they should trade him but when I put forward the question about what the Bengals should do with Burrow, he did a 180 and said no the Bengals should re-sign him.

 

So there was and is major hypocrisy there. I never attributed it to race though, just that some people who were wrong about Hurts are too stubborn to accept they were wrong and as a result clearly do not at all appreciate and respect what he brings to this team.  There is no other way around it when you try to claim its all about the economics of that cap that you shouldn't sign a QB to a big deal but then turn around and say the Bengals who are in the exact same situation should give Burrow a big new deal.

Well if things could somehow shake out this way in the draft, losing Hargrave wouldn't feel like such a big deal 🙂

100% agree. But it's fun to dream. And the one analogy I have to something like that happening is when Jonathan Allen fell to #17 in 2017. For awhile he was a lock to be top 5.

Still, yes, there's no way Carter falls to #10.

In the Bears' scheme, LBs actually matter. It makes sense.

Also, by rule, the Bears have to spend money to hit the cap floor.
