FYP

And FWIW, there needs to be consequences for the illegal lawfare that was used against Trump.  This cannot become the norm.

Speaking of catching up.....

Nope. A lot of states, PA for example, do not count early votes until election day.

Looking bad, but not over yet.

I guess SOMEONE here doesn't believe in second chances :nonono:

I did read what you posted and that's why I responded that identity politics is all they have because their policies directly hurt whites/Christians (and really all middle-class earners). So they have to rile up minorities through identity politics because they need the turnout considering minorities and clueless whites are all they have left as potential voters.

I'm acknowledging that what you are describing is a problem and they need to not do that. They need to run on real issues that affect everyone and not just black and trans people. Winning an argument against an incoherent Donald Trump on economic, immigration, and abortion rights policies should NOT be as difficult as Democrats made it.

I'm also surprised this thread didn't have 50 new pages and I could actually go through it to catch up.  You idiots were being.... civil?

Dems in here saw what was happening and had absolutely nothing to say.  😅😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣

The loud external calls are going to be about doubling down. At least to start.

I think this is the best part about Trump. People talk about the chaos candidate, but they don’t truly understand what it means.

He’s forced a realignment of BOTH parties. Neo-cons fled the GOP for the Democratic Party, which is both fantastic and actually a more natural home for them.

But as you say, the question is if they go off the wall crazy left or try to move towards the middle.

I’m guessing it looks something like this:

Economic populist collectivism. Lots of government programs, tax hikes on corporations and the wealthy.

Foreign policy neutrality. This is actually the biggest question. Dems were leading the Ukraine War chants. Neo-cons defected to them. Do neo-cons get kicked out or find a new parasitic host? Their base is flat out for Palestine which goes against everything the neocons believe in. This is one to watch

Social issues — pound abortion, moderate on LGBTQFOGTAG issues, at least as far as public visibility. Maybe try to spur some gun rights restrictions the next time a mass shooting happens, but that seems more like a talking point than a policy possibility.

From a criminal.  Good luck with that.

It would be fully in line with his first term. Lots of queefing from the left, lots of manufactured drama, but fundamentally a good but boring term in reality.

Yeah, I remember how it felt in 2020. A few of us would have been absolutely flamed if it went the other way, though. I'm overjoyed Trump one and we move forward.

No, I do not believe it will.  He was a deer in the headlights and had a revolving door of an administration.  This time, they've already vetted people who will by loyal to him like he's somekind of God.  He may be President, but to me he's still a POS.

McConnell can't walk in a straight line.

You're still butthurt about the Supreme Court opening in 2016 - except that in prior years when there was such an opening in similar circumstances, the party controlling the Senate would never put up a nominee of a lame duck president of the opposite party.

Honestly, it's just such attitudes on the part of you people that created the massive Republican win last night.  Own up to your own shortcomings for a change.  The American people put the likes of you and your cohorts on notice whether you like it or not.

Your party shoved Amy Coney Barrett through in five mins.

Spare me these made up rules about when a president is "allowed" to appoint a SC nominee. McConnell stole that nomination.

well, the bright side is that cheeto doesn't keep his promises. hell, i doubt he even knew what he was saying half the time during his rallies. he doesn't really have any policies other than enriching himself & his family. the danger will be if he winds up being a puppet potus with a radical cabinet pulling the strings.

I remember how you felt too.  You guys attacked the Capitol.

The best thing about the way he won is that there is no controversy or anything anyone can say to detract from the results.   It was such an overwhelming victory that even his naysayers will need to admit that he won.

Look, I am probably The only person you will ever meet who would genuinely respect Trump more if he actually made America into the Handmaids Tale 4th Reich death camp a reality, but that’s just not him. It’s literally just been memed into your head.

He’s a 90’s democrat with a huge ego. That’s it — everyone will get all worked up over everything because America has an excess estrogen pandemic, but ultimately not much of significance will happen outside of foreign policy… at least, that’s my belief.

For three years he had excellent fortune. There were no major crises to handle.

Trump is awful in a crisis. All he knows how to do is point fingers.

Let's hope nothing major tests him.

Unlike his previous cabinet members (who spoke out AGAINST him), he will be in authority and his cabinet will go along with it.  No guard rails this time, mike.

Here's hoping he spends much of his time playing golf.

We're all here taking our licks so F off with that "own up to your shortcomings" nonsense. Not a single person in here actually believes that what what McConnell did in 2016 wasn't completely out of political bounds. And I'd argue that one singular act, along with Obama's tan suit, radically reshaped American politics. From that point on good faith political discourse was out the window.

I had said this was like the 2012 election where gop confidence was misplaced and the dems would win rather easily. It was actually more like 2004. While all of the data and intangibles pointed to Kerry winning, all of the data was wrong and Bush was more popular and had much more enthusiasm than data was capturing. It looks like people just didn't show up to vote for Harris. I know not all the votes are in yet, but it looks like Trump got about the same amount of people to vote for him this time as he did 4 years ago, and over 10 million people who voted for Biden just sat this one out. I was surprised and pretty down in 2004 after election day. Some of the old timers will remember I went on a rant and said that people foolishly voted against their own self interest and would pay for it. A few laters the entire economy collapsed and we almost went into another great depression. Are the consequences of this one going to be as bad as that or worse? I hope not.

Right, and I'm saying it's their only option because their policies are horrible for white people and christians.

Did you ever think it was weird that Kamala couldn't articulate any coherent plan to improve people's lives? How she couldn't answer simple softball questions about what she'd do different from Biden? Did you think it was weird that they were dressing Walz up in hunting gear and parading him out there to make a fool of himself on a weird hunting trip? Did you think it was weird that they were campaigning on the idea that Harris and Walz were huge supporters of the 2nd amendment?

They had nothing to focus on besides abortion and orange man bad because their policies are awful for normal, white Americans. So no, they can't transition away from identity politics to focus on their "good policies" because their policies promote inflation, out of control government spending, high crime, illegal immigration etc. They have to lean into racial grievances because minorities and brainwashed whites are the only people who vote for them.

At the end of the day, it is what it is.  Disillusioned is how I feel.

Hopefully it is a quite 4 years, I doubt it, but that is what I am hoping for.
