However, both did feel like the final piece needed to really have a chance to win a title. So, in that regard, its on par.Kind of. TO was came here in 31/32 season. LeBron is certainly not in his prime but I was just thinking in regards to star power.

Lindros wasn’t proven but he was regarded as the next great NHL player. I’d say Barkley just misses out. Harper is a good one.Maybe the best example is Moses.
July 26Jul 26 We knew this had to happen for KCP. It is done. My guy Terry is waived.https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/286828/Sixers-Waive-Dalen-Terry
July 26Jul 26 So, here is the answer on how the 6ers can fill the final 15th spot on the roster. Have to wait till later in the season. Cant afford a full vet minimum at this point. So later in the season when it is pro-rated they can afford the final x number of weeks of a vet minimum contract. I wonder when that date hits that they can afford it.

In his prime, coming to Philly from the Nets. That was bigger than Malone coming to the 76ers. That was a HUGE, franchise altering acquisition,

If they can't find it, they'll waive and stretch.. so that's how waiving him will free up cap space since he's not one of the non-guaranteed contract guys.Impressive maneuvering leaving the opportunity to waive Jabari Walker on the table for another move.
July 27Jul 27 The 6ers are not done, and that has been hinted at by Cooney. We all know the glaring weakness is the backup 5 position. And when you look at the masterful job that has been done on this roster, you KNOW there is no way they are going in to this season contending for a championship, with Bona and Jabari Walker as Embiid's backups.Going back to what I have said previously- at this point the only player on this roster who is here by accident is LeBaron Philon.New thought- with this team at this level of contending, we are not going to be giving him a lot of minutes (if any other than blowouts) dealing with his inefficiency, and turnovers that he struggled with in summer league.I think that instead of signing a vet min like Nic Richards, Kevin Love, or Olynek, the 76ers can look for a trade using the combined salaries of Philon, and Jabari Walker which equals $6,181,659 and they can potentially bring in an actually decent/borderline starter level player to fill our final need.Team still wont have a true PG, but Philon is not ready for that role this season anyway. Team does have a bunch of ball handlers though. JB will have it a ton. LeBron can play a bunch of point forward. Simons can play the 1 although he is more of a scorer. Same goes for Maxey....Philon is pretty irrelevant for this year. Yet may be an attractive trade chip to fill our final need and complete this team.
July 27Jul 27 Cooney said the move could be major, or it could be minor. He wasnt giving any detals.Only major move I can think of would be for Duren, who is currently making around 4 million. Of course, his contract is the reason for his potential trade so, thats tricky cause you cant extend him right now. And you dont wan to give up a ton for a 1 year rental. But it would be huge...Other centers who fit in to that salary range are from 46 and down the list. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/rankings/player/_/year/2026/position/c/sort/cap_totalI couldnt begin to speculate on who is potentially gettable, or who is really worth it other than Jay Huff was a name last year and his salary is possibly low enough that you dont even have to include Philon.
