At their best, The Three Stooges were mildly amusing.  Laurel and Hardy were far more talented and funny at slapstick comedy.  Groucho Marx is probably the most spontaneously funny individual entertainer of the first half of the 20th century.  I get more laughs from any random 15 minutes of You Bet Your Life than the entire Stooges library

Sure, I get that. But I have always been a fan of smart humor as opposed to stupid humor. And I consider Monty Python to be the former and the Three Stooges to be the latter. That’s my taste. YMMV.
