EMB Blog: 2023 Camps and Preseason - NO POLITICS

With pre-season just a couple of weeks away, think a moment about the Gameday threads. After the Super Bowl, I experimented with Live chat capabilities via YouTube (example below):

Spoiler

It's not a huge amount of work to do that each week, but it's enough work that if it's not going to be used, I won't do it. But if it will be used, I'll be happy to do so. So please let me know if that's a desired thing.

The old chats were basically people fighting the entire time and being told to drink bleach. People will like it, but I've been fine with the threads since Chip's first year or whenever they ditched it.

Chances are you'll put the work in and it will turn into a crap show many don't want to be a part of.

Yeah I don't think I will use it, I can barely stand the GameDay thread

From Titans practice:

Quote

The Dillard-Key matchup was a real spectacle on Friday, mainly due to Key getting into the backfield on what felt like every play. I noted a solid four play sequence at one point that consisted of a sack, two holds, and a false start against Dillard.

Both Key and Dillard stood out on Friday, but for completely different reasons. That can be taken either as a real compliment to the Titans' new pass rusher or a serious indictment of their new left tackle. Realistically, it's probably somewhere in between.

Interested to see how he does as a full time starter there.

I feel like the titans are done with willis. Could’ve started him at the end of the year and went out and picked up dobbs instead. Then drafted levis and rumors tried to move for him. I think if tannehill gets hurt or is done they might just go with levis

Willis was a wreck last season but I don't think they're going to cut him if he's improved.  I mean there's no risk to keeping him to see if he develops.  If it's clear the Levis is better, I think the would trade him.  He's a 3rd round pick.  No one should be surprised if he ends up as a back up.

I generally use the blog for GameDay.  Does using YouTube offer the board anything noteworthy?

Well they will because of where Levis was drafted but, I think he is going to be crap.

If we could get 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 views within a 90 day time period, I could get the channel monetized and then make a little revenue for the board there, to add to other revenue streams. Aside from that potential (in terms of earning the board something) , no.

^ I think this is the problem I see with Wentz Haters, specifically Eagles fans. Just biased and cherry pick stats, or games that they want to bring up.

Fairly unbiased here, because I remember those games(not vividly) but also remember when he went into Arizona and New England back to back weeks and won against 2 playoff games. Also remember how he threw up a ton of points against the Texans and Ravens(I think) but his defense couldnt stop anyone and ended up losing like 40-34 in over time both games.

End of the day he probably had close to 4000 yards that year, 30ish? TD's and 5 or 6 INT's.  if that "sucks"  70% of the QB's should retire

Banned for being a clone of banned member.

Wentz Washers just can't help themselves.

@VaBeach_Eagle @Moderator12@Moderator6 Which banned member was it btw?

The Titans also hired a new general manager, so  the guy who drafted him and wanted him is no longer there.

I don’t think Mike vrabel really loved him either.  they went Joshua Dobbs at the end of the year. Who was on another teams’ Practice squad and had minimal time in the Titans offense and with their playbook. Imo Mike vrabel  thought he was part of his teams long-term future I think he’s playing him just to get him experience even if dobbs had more playing experience. Vrabel wasn’t getting fired making or missing the playoffs last year.

I agree I don’t think he gets cut. I think they are going to keep him. Although I do think if tannehill gets hurt or is not very good,  Levis is the kid that they’re going to go to if they believe he’s ready. The only reason why I think they wouldn’t is if they don’t think he’s ready yet  or they have massive injuries along their OL so don’t want him to get destroyed, and rather make Malik Willis the sacrificial lamb.

Giving him that giant padded helmet makes him look like he busted out of the circus onto a football field ...

I don't disagree.  He had an opportunity and didn't play well.  I think part of the problem is they didn't do much to help him but it's not like he showed that much promise.  It will be interesting to see how they both play in the pre-season.

My problem what was originally said (not you) was that the Titans were really good. I don’t agree with that. When I think of really good teams I think of the Chiefs, the Eagles, the Bengals, the niners and the bills. The issue I have with the Titans is your quarterback situation could be a complete mess. even though they got DeAndre Hopkins, and he’s good when he plays, he doesn’t stay as healthy as he has in the past and he’s older.  also if the Titans aren’t in the realm of possibility to win the division or make the wildcard at the deadline, I would not be entirely shocked if they trade Derrick Henry. earlier this off-season rumors leaked that they were trying to do that.

Do we need a youtube account for the chat or is this a chat that's through the board like the old one?

I would have been fine with Nolan Smith at 10.  Could be franchise altering if both Carter and Nolan become elite great players in this league.
