I have 46 locks / near-locks on the final 53.

I have 7 (my choices bolded) from the these 13.

I remember when we would be looking forward to see who other teams cut to fill out the bottom of our roster.  We still are...but just for a punter.

Although I’m sure I’m in the minority, I have them only keeping 3 RBs.

I also don’t see them keeping Andrews on the 53.  With those two slots I’m keeping Goodrich and Garner.

Okay, I see that no one took me up on the offer (which would be easy enough to look up if you know how).

Let's try again. Donnie Jones averaged 4.22 hangtime the year the Eagles won the Super Bowl. Arryn Siposs averaged 4.33 hangtime his first year. So what was his dreadful hangtime average in his brutal season last year?

I’m no masochist.  Any answer I give will result in a Three Stooges comedy skit wit plenty of smacking upside the head of me by you.  But with that said, I’m going to venture a symmetrical guess … 4.44 seconds.

I don't understand why they keep comparing the two or using Hurts to say Fields can improve as well

Just because Hurts made an astronomical leap from 2022 to 2023 doesn't mean Fields can do this or that

True, but it is a logical story line to use as a projection.

I even used it in coming up with the Hurts to Chicago for a package similar to (better than) what Seattle got from Denver, with Fields having the opportunity to make the leap as an Eagle.  It was fun to speculate.

3.84?

I'm not sure if that's a serious guess or not, but it's not even close.

And thanks to the others who ventured guesses which were slightly higher than the actual number.

Siposs averaged 4.32 seconds last year. It was 4.33 prior to the Super Bowl, which was exactly the same average he had a year earlier. Better than two of Cameron Johnston's three year averages. Better than two of Donnie Jones's averages. Better than Mat McBriar. Better than three of four of Sav Rocca's seasons. Better than Dirk Johnson. Better than every one of Sean Landeta's seasons.

I'm not so foolish to argue that he had a good year because he really didn't. Punting is improving rapidly throughout the league and Siposs performed like a punter from a decade ago. But he didn't have anywhere close to as bad of a season as so many Eagles fans are imagining. I still think they're unfairly remembering the angst of watching Brett Kern line drive every damn punt and attributing it to Siposs, who was on the injured list the entire time.

Once again, I'm not saying I would be upset if they made a move at punter. I'd be okay with it, I guess. But I'm not sure I agree with making a change just for change's sake.

And I STILL think he's going to get cut on August 29th. And everyone will rejoice...for a day...until they announce he's been signed to the practice squad and will be the team's punter on opening day.

I'm a frequent Fields detractor, and I believe it's pretty unfair to him to start speculating whether he can make a "Hurts-type" leap.

Most NFL QBs are a product of their environment and supporting cast.  Fields plays on a bad Bears team (3-14 last season) that needs help everywhere on the roster.  There is no AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and/or Dallas Goedert to help him, and his OL in Chicago isn't close to what Hurts has protecting him in Philly.  There's also no Sirianni (Steichen) and Johnson to coach him up.

What NFL and Bears fans need to look for from Fields is progression.  He improved from 7 TD/ 10 INT in Year 1 to 17 TD/ 11 INT last season.  Improvement on recognition, processing speed, and taking care of the football is what fans need to look for.

Siposs cut on August 29th … that is a very interesting idea.  It gives Howie the flexibility to protect one extra young "futures” player like Garner or Ngata.  I’ll have to chew on that one a while.

Solid post.  There is no question in my mind that he would progress much more and more quickly here than he would in Chicago.

It's just lazy analysis. African American QB who came into the league as more of a running threat. Hurts made a leap in year 3, and everyone was higher on Fields, so he will too to justify all of the pre-draft opinions. Most of what we still see on terrible ESPN/FS1 shows is guys clinging to their pre-draft opinions on Hurts -- look no further than that clown Nick Wright saying Hurts biggest question is accuracy from the pocket, when Hurts was the most accurate passer from the pocket last year.

It's all projection. They need Fields to make a leap so they don't have to admit they were wrong about Hurts.

I was wrong about Hurts, I never saw this coming. Work ethic trumps all I guess.

Okay, which player are you keeping over Goodrich?  Why?

Which player are you keeping over Garner?  Why?

The devil is on the details.

Be careful of @NCiggles. He seems like a nice guy until he lures you to an Eagles game and then tries to diddle you in the port-a-john.

Dude!  You need to complete and send in the requisite forms.  The INS and FBI make us do all this because one dude from Honduras thought this was where he could request asylum.
