Pickett is going to be better because the Steelers are better and QBs going from year 1 to year 2 are generally better.

Feel free to eye roll at all the stories about how the muscle made the difference.

The same might be true with Daniel Jones but because the Giants passing game got better like adding Waller at TE and year 2 with Daboll. (and having anyone not named Golladay)

No question he will be better. Was just making the joke about the muscle compared to the story about Jones. The Steelers are going to be a problem this year. The Giants are going to be a pest too. Both teams are better.

Interesting under the radar comment about yesterday’s join practice from Fran Duffy.

Devon Allen wins on a really crafty slant route, clubbing cornerback Kevin Tolliver aside and working in for a wide-open catch. We didn't see that kind of nuance from Allen last year. The second-year receiver came back a couple of minutes later with a great stutter-go move for a touchdown over the top. Allen stood out as a gunner in special teams drills today as well.

Zach Berman and Bo Wulf also mentioned Allen

Devon Allen also showed off his speed for one of the first times this camp as a receiver when his stutter-go left Kevin Toliver II in his wake for a long touchdown

There is no clear WR4/5 on this team. Zech McPhearson was a top gunner on ST last year. Allen really stood out there last year and he could easily sneak on to the roster to fill that role.

53 seems pretty straight forward this year. The only real position I think could be a bigger surprise, relatively speaking, is OL and only because there's 8 names that deserve it but Eagles generally don't go that light.

Covey could be an interesting case. He randomly hurt his hamstring at some point before Pre-Season Game 1 and hasn't even jogged or did anything since. Depending on the severity, maybe they put him on IR to start the year.

Has anyone seen or gotten the SI issue with Hurts on newsstands?

I’ve been trying to find a copy for my son, having no luck.

Is SI doing regional covers or was Hurts the main cover?

Loved him as a prospect.  But you kind of got the feeling this would happen.

Well, guess that's it for his career.  He will go meet Sam Hurd in prison.

The original report said it was. Where did you see different?

Quote

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams was arrested by Frisco police Sunday night on charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful carrying of a weapon, per a police department spokesperson. The controlled substance charge, for alleged possession of marijuana, is a low-level state felony and the unlawful carrying of a weapon is a misdemeanor, according to Frisco police.

I've watched a few of their videos -- I agree, really interesting stuff.  Not sure if I felt smarter or dumber after viewing

On YouTube I like Anton Petrov (lots of James Webb updates and latest in discoveries) and Isaac Arthur  (Arthur is more projection of the future and he has a speech impediment that might take a watch or 2 to get used to)

Needs to get legalized already

Is the law in TX no weed at all, or to get this charge does it have to be over a certain amount (like Hurd and the intent to distribute charge)? Considering where we are with weed in the country, I'm surprised, but not surprised, that there are states that haven't at the least decriminalized possession of it. Making it legal is another story.

Dallas Morning News could be wrong if the police report says Pot

I don't think they improved where they needed to which is the o-line.  Ultimately adding Seumalo, LaRaven Clark and Nate Herbig isn't going to make them much better.

I am skeptical of the Giants' improvements.  I think they will have a very good to elite d-line but I am not sure Waller is enough for them on offense.  I also think o-line is a weakness for them at least in terms of what Evan Neal provided last season.  The WR corps for them is also mostly potential and not past performance.  I am not sure that Daniel Jones is going to all of the sudden turn into an accurate downfield passer that doesn't have turnover issues.  I think the real difference for them may be the addition of Deonte Banks.  The d-line may very well and certainly they could be in contention for the division if Jones looks improved.

Ya gotta bear in mind the team he's on. He might get looked at funny if he didn't have some ..... interactions .... with law enforcement.

To double down on what @twistr said,  Texas busts people coming back from other states with THC products or CBD oil with higher than 0.3% THC and things like that. They are hardcore anti-drugs. They might be fines and slaps on the wrist but they catch lots of people for it. You can go full Bernard Williams in Colorado but you better smoke it all up there before you come back.

Interesting, ESPN is also now saying it was not marijuana per the police.

Steelers also drafted Broderick Jones. They've completely rebuilt their OL. Jones is going to be very good. Seumalo is very good. Herbig is a good starting OG. If they mesh, they could be great.

2nd arrest for Sam Williams this year.

It was a fait accompli once he was drafted by Jerrah

@NCiggles  The Giants were good last year. We are biased because the Eagles were the 1 or 1A team all year and killed them.

The Giants were 10-5-1 when not playing the Eagles and 10-3-1 when not playing the Eagles or Cowboys.

I think they could be better on roster talent and still only be 10-7 if they can't start beating Dallas.

I would love to see Allen try to return punts tomorrow.
