This ‘Albert O’ guy Howie traded for looks more like another big WR than a TE.  He has TE size for sure, but his blocking is suspect, to say the least, at this point.

Still… I think the Eagles pose much more of a threat in 12 sets with this guy vs Stoll or Calc.

Or am I missing something here?  This guy looks like another mismatch for defenses

Albert Ok seems like a big and fast receiving TE.  He seems like a starting receiving TE.  He seems better than Grant Calc at receiving TE.  It seems like it would be better to have Albert Ok as a starter, playing receiving TE than Quez as a starter, playing slot WR.

I don't think he has the blocking chops that Goedert has at TE.

The "much more of a threat in 12 sets" seems entirely right.

I'll be opening the Regular Season blog in few days.

I've been thinking about having two blogs this season, on each side of the bye.  The Regular Season blog slowed down at the end of the season last year.

Thoughts?

Does it really matter what people think? Do whatever you think is best.

I have a thought. And it matters.

Blogs were never split, and no one wanted them split. It became a necessity on the old eagles run boards as bandwith with so many long running threads became an issue. There wasnt only the blog, but the Talk About Anything thread in WU was massive. The Boobs thread. Different team threads like the 6ers thread, Phillies and Flyers threads...

We dont have that issue here. Its not nearly as active. Threads arent nearly as long, and there arent as many running threads.

Its one thing to continue splitting blogs, which isnt really necessary, but weve become used to. Its another unnecessary thing altogether, to decide to split it up even more. Theres absolutely no reason or need for it.

Dont split the regular season thread.

Well, I know I only saw one clip. I would defer to you as far as his blocking abilities.

But my question was more about how much of a weapon will he be in the passing game. I think we could probably both agree that Howie did not trade for him for his blocking ability.

He looks like a damn big threat to me… Am I wrong?

You are right.  6054 258 and 4.49 are freakbeast numbers.  He's a potent weapon. I'm enthusiastic.

The Eagles have stars at 4 positions, including TE, and rbbc.   But it wasn't clear what the other position was.  I liked Tyree Jackson as starting receiving TE,  he was cut and Albert Ok brought in. Tyree has a ras of 9.83 as a TE.  Albert Ok is heavier and faster, and has been playing TE for a lot longer.

I'm fine either way but what is the difference if he breaks it up? How would that detract from things? Curious.

Wrong.

The real question is why we should change anything. Its not broken. Dont fix it.

In the past, I understood why it needed to happen and had no issue with it. But I remember some people did. I think @greend was very opposed.

The main issue I can imagine would be searching for something. Back then, everything would be searchable in 1 thread. Now you have to remember if you discussed something in the offseason or the regular season. Not too hard to figure out most of the time. If we start splitting regular seasons in two, then it becomes needlessly harder.

Search is infrequently used. Not a big deal to me. But there are absolutely 0 issues with keeping the system all the same, and 0 reasons to change it.

I brought this up back in early spring, why not Marquette King? He was booming 60-70yd punts all season long in the XFL

He's an actual narcissist. He gets 15 yard penalties celebrating his punts.

He may have called his own fake punt as well.

I wonder if Pat McAfee would be interested in podcasting from the sidelines during eagles games and occasionally sending a punt for us.

So we can't close a blog, keep it to the side, and start a new blog because why exactly?

We need to have a record of what we said last week and last month?  We do in the closed blog.

We need to feel good that we are on page 700?

I really don't get the complaint at all.

The real reason the blog is closing is because of all of the Phillies talk.  I've had to submit over 275 separate reports today alone about it.  It appears closing the blog is the only solution they can find.

but why actually is it a good idea to break it all up in to small segments?

Or we just ban you again and there’s not 275 reports

We’re going to miss you. Enjoy the suspension.

Its because it starts to run poorly, like last year. If performance was not an issue we'd keep it one continuous blog AFAIK

I'm all for a Phillies blog inside TatE but anything outside of TatE is a ghost town.

I dont think it does start to run poorly. That happened when we had threads with 3000 pages on the old board.

It may have happened here once but we got more bandwith.

The size of these blogs, combined with the small size of community actually posting is not really an issue.

I'm all for one blog as long as it runs as normal.

Breaking up the blogs into sections is fine. What's key is having everything in one thread to make it easy to follow.

the more it gets split up the harder it will be. theres clearly no need for splitting them up even smaller.

E pluribus unum.

A blog for the first 9 games of the season. The a new blog for the last 8 games. Then a new blog (hopefully) for the playoffs is very easy to follow.

@hputenis likes splitting @EaglePhan1986 cheeks

as easy as just 1 regular season blog and one offseason blog? no.

And the reason to break it up more now is?
