Harper is objectively a giant **** but I can absolutely see why Phils fans love him.  Hes a classic 'Hate Him on the Other Team, Love Him on Your Team' guy.

Its just good for baseball. With all these modern athletes being all lovey dovey with each other its refreshing to see legit rivalries and hatred for the opposition.

F that, I became a Harper fan when Cole Hamels plunked him on purpose and Harpers response was "F you, I'm stealing home".  That level of spite I respect.

This is very true.  Lenny Dykstra was the same way.  Hated him with the Mets, Loved him with the Phillies... though off the field, he's got a myriad of issues.  

I'm sure Bobby Clarke was a guy that was rather hated around the league (I know the Russians basically think that he's a criminal for the slash he committed during the Canada-USSR series!  ) 

T.O. was another one.  Loved him here, hated him elsewhere, both before and after he was here.

 

Harper with the Phillies has completely changed the clubhouse.  They are now a tight knit group who will work hard and play hard.   Best thing to come out of last night was the fact that despite the blowout, nobody was giving away at-bats, even in the bottom of the 8th.  They will need that same focus tonight and if they bring it like they did last night, they will be partying again in the clubhouse.

I remember that game vividly.  It was a great moment in baseball, honestly.   I didn't like it as a Phillies fan, but any time someone steals home... that's a ballsy move.   We loved it when Utley went from second to home on a weakly hit infield knuckler.  That's the same mentality.  And that's why I wouldn't kill him for his base running in Game 2.  His aggressiveness is a huge part of what makes him who he is, and I don't think there's a Phillies fan that doesn't want that killer mentality that he brings, especially in those big spots.  It backfired in Game 2, but that was frankly a lost cause long before that moment.  He was uber aggressive and it bit him.  No one in the clubhouse was going to give him crap though, because they all know, the next night, he's going to be the same guy and it is going to pay off for them.

 

That's why I predicted he'd have 2 extra base hits last night.  You just knew after that play, and even more so after Arcia's comments got out... that he was going to have an answer for it.  He carried them to victory last night.  Harper and Nola.

Eagles defense have played the 13th fewest snaps in the NFL.

2nd against the run in total yards. 
7th in run in TDs against 

27th against the pass in total yards. 
30th in passing touchdowns against.

My dad had season tickets for the Flyers back then.  I was in my 20's.  It was indeed prime sports love.
