I met @mattwill and @FranklinFldEBUpper at lunch, separately and together, the former, several times; Swami Stubbs I met at his book signing; he no longer posts here.

Don’t forget @BigEFly who was there for lunch too.

What was the pejorative label 4X4 had for us?

While I realize this is a joke, who really is the backup QB GOAT?  Criteria:  they initially had to be at least 2nd string on the depth chart on opening day, and I only count what they did for the one season.

Candidates: Foles, Hostetler, Tom Brady only in the year he won the superbowl as the backup, who else?

Kurt Warner, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Koy Detmer.

Friday morning musings.  Drove down to Berkeley for breakfast at Bette’s Oceanview Diner.  Had a great breakfast several years ago with @Talon   It is fun to meet EMB members in person.

where have you met others on the EMB?

Also met dawkins20 several times while working on the Chipwagon. How could I have forgotten that?

So outside of the pro shop or Fanatics where is the best place to find a kelly green hoodie? They don't have a ton of choices and all I can find are shady looking sites.

Pillars, I think.

I swear, @BigEFly is related to half the major figures in American history.

Earl Morrall I would think.  He was backup to both Unitas and Griese and won Super Bowls with both the Colts and Dolphins.

I swear some of the posters were formerly members of the whack pack on the Stern show in the 90's...  ...

I might be biased but it's Nick Foles and it's not even close.

YES!! I knew there was a Colts player that did the same thing, but i couldn't think of his name.

Kurt Warner is a notable omission, yeah.

FitzMagic is fun, but not on the same level.  Koy Detmer, LOL, no.  Is that you Koy?

Before my time but Jim Plunkett.

That’s brutal. Well bengals should just tank to get as high of a pick as they can get to help try to fix their oline.

I met @FranklinFldEBUpper in a seedy parking lot in NJ (aren't they all seedy in NJ?!) and had a great conversation with him.   Also attended a game alongside him and had a blast, sadly the outcome on the field didn't match that.

I also met with @Don Corleone at Brian Dawkins' HOF enshrinement, in Canton.  Another great guy, salt of the earth type.   And while I've never actually met @greend in person (I had a meeting in place with him, but at the last minute a schedule change caused me to miss it), it would have been great to see him.    I miss having him around.

The rest of you mooks, I think I'd get along with as well... probably get along with you better in person than on here.

Glad he at least got paid first. That franchise is just cursed.

We've entered the portion of the NFL season where 3/4 of the games are just unwatchable. No desire to watch Browning for any reason.

Call Nick Foles. Just do it Cincinnati.

Agreed!  If we hung out we could talk about Travis and Taylor's budding relationship!

Kurt Warner for sure.

Or they could call Carso...nevermind, he jumped the gun and is a backup again.

I think they’re less cursed and more they just don’t fix the problem that’s been there since he was a rookie. Their offensive line is still one of the worst in football. He’s been there now for 4 years and that line is still bad. they’ve had chance after chance, and just Fed it up. They are ranked 23rd by pff and ESPN’s pass block win rate 20th and run blocking win rate 24th

:censored:   Plunkett did that in 1980.

Interesting trivia note:  Plunkett was the #1 overall pick in 1971 (Patriots), Pastorini went #3 (Oilers)... and the (patri-)Archie Manning went #2 to the Saints.

I wonder if the AFL can just abolish the Wild Cards this year.

Steelers (6-3)

Browns (6-3) - no clue what their schedule looks like. Defense might get them there but DTR isn't ready

Bills  (5-5)

Jets (4-5)

Raiders (5-5)

Chargers (4-5)

Broncos (4-5)

Texans (5-4)

Colts (5-5)

I'd guess it's Steelers, Bills and I'll pull for Texans

I already doxed myself when I put Kevin Curtis in an Immaculate Grid, so I'm ok with it
