Passing game is ranked 28th. Yes, very lackluster considering our receivers.

On the plus side we have two top five TDs scorers in Saquan and Hurts. As long as we don’t need to develop and rely on anything other than the don’t lose approach things are going fantastic.

My bad on Trotter. I haven't been paying attention to him

He hasn't played because the 2 starters are playing well.

Wild how Josh Allen seems to always hit his highest levels …when losing. Many think he solidified his MVP award winning season with 6 TDs in a loss. It’s always trying to prop stats up over getting the actual job done with him. That he’s so great even though he routinely loses these close games. That if his team is in a game…he isn’t the guy to rely on coming through. Situations you just can’t point towards his teammates as the issue. Getting blown out…could show his surrounding cast just isn’t good enough. Losing these close games…being like 0-8 in OT…is more telling about the individual.

Yeah ...tough to blame the Buffalo defense yesterday,  clearly Allen was the problem 🤦🤦

Interesting take....I'll ask, why do you say the opposite when it comes to Hurts in the Superbowl?

I just feel the flood gates are ready to erupt with Q with the interceptions….if they throw at him.

I just feel that 2 things are going to happen with our defense.

Carter will see double teams every time the offense can....and teams aren't going to throw at Mitchell.   They tried him early, not going to attack him now.  They will look to attack the other CB.

I’m struggling to not feel too much like I was last season. At 10-1 we felt sunk. At least last year I was confident we’d remove the major roadblock at seasons end. Clearly I was wrong…but right now it feels like everything is working out so we just keep Siri again…and again.

The one thing in common from last season is the QB.    Other than that....the competition,  the fatigue and the setup of the schedule isn't even close.

Feels like the goal for this season. We could at least maybe get Saquan the record. Provide Siri more ammo with his resume strong suit :his W/L record also.

Yeah.... I'm thinking 32 teams are trying to build their coach's resume by winning.  🤦🤦

lol what gets me is you say these things about Allen but if Hurts would throw for 6 tds and lose you would be blaming everyone and thing else for why it happens. Why are your standards different for Hurts than everyone else?

Wish I didn’t have such a negative feeling about our team’s situation. I admit it’s where I’m at while our team is one game out of the top seed. We do have plenty of positives going on. So many bright spots have developed. I am enjoying the majority of what’s going on with this year’s team. Can’t help but have an understanding of how much we are in our own way of accomplishing what the real goal actually should be.
We’ll see if the negative focused coaching and decisions will pay off for us. It has for the one step thinking approach to win a regular season game…well not lose a regular season game…is the more accurate description of our team’s approach this season.

Other than the QB.... why would you be negative?

OL is only one top 5 in both run and pass blocking... a couple depth pieces on top of a stud starting 5.

DL... young dudes stepping up.

LBs could make an argument are playing the best in the league

Young CBs locking it down to where they barely gets targeted

WRs and RB you could argue best in the league.

Backup TE playing well.

The Punter is solid,  same with coverage teams.

The QB and the kicker are the two guys not looking good.

Not sure why you are in a bad place...now?

I’m not all that negative about our team situation though. We have a young budding D that seems to be getting better every week hitting their stride at the right time. We have one of if not the best ground game in football with the best RB.

If we can just figure out some ways to get passing game going before the playoffs we are in good shape. And not like we need 300+ games couple big chunk plays here and there take advantage of teams trying to stop our ground game etc.

This was a great post by Ham.   Hopefully now he can understand his bias...all we heard was Hurts out statistic Mahomes in the Superbowl... but ultimately Mahomes made all the plays without the major mistakes.

Hurts threw two awful passes that he got stats from in that game. The eye test if you watch it now... not close

I will also add the Siri v Hurts thing is getting tiring lol…. I don’t ever wish an injury on a guy but I just want to see Siri with another QB for extend period of the season so we can put to rest if it’s him or Hurts.

And it has to be extended time because that’s when you alter the O to the new QB not when someone is in for a game or two ie Foles in 2017 we saw the changes after the bye into the playoffs with the O

What should the goal be?

Very clearly Hurts didn’t get the ball back for that final victorious drive in the SB. I was completely confident he was getting it done. I’ll tell you that. No doubts in my mind.

Yeah....except I'm not interested in seeing either of our backup QBs now.

So when Allen doesn't get the ball back in the playoffs OT and the other times... or his defense gives up 45 ... that doesn't count?

Just like Atlanta this year or Seattle last year?

Nor am I not expecting it to be this season probably not even next season but since neither Siri or Hurts are going anywhere this season or next this debate will rage on lol

Well hey we might end up with another OC to blame for being a terrible O mind

Which is Slay. They’ve really  been doing this already. I don’t see Slay holding up through it either. This will finish him. He battled through everything yesterday with crucial defending. Really all we need from that opposite DB. Doesn’t have to be lockdown…but make some plays to counter the plays given up.

I’m seeing our opponents really working the middle of the field on us. Still not sold on our TE coverage. Conflicting  our LB to manipulate them just a bit ….can really expose and open up our S. McCollum has looked capable…he’s going to be targeted….along with want other lesser S, do I even need to mention Maddox?

Hurts is the guy for 2025 and 2026... but we shall see after that.   Be interesting to see the investment at the position which will tell us what the front office thinks.  They will present Hurts is our guy but the moves will tell the real story.

That’s because you just focus on Hurts Hating. Not going to pretend I haven’t been telling you and everybody this was coming: the passing O not just nondevelopment…backwards short term thinking limited approach that will hold us back.

So then your original idea of Q getting all these interceptions was pretty much not really what you think will happen..

It was just your way of saying " I called it with Q"  but you absolutely don't believe he is going to be getting targeted enough to get picks do you?

You agree with me... you just can't say it.

I’m not going to get super detailed and deep on league wide Oline pass blocking rankings….but we aren’t doing that great at pass blocking this year. Sure hope our actually team’s plan isn’t thinking like you in this area. We’ve had major issues this season. You can’t just look at the name on paper and chalk up each individual games performance. Lane and Mailata have been strong…when Mailata has suited up. But even they have been caught up in the overall Oline blocking assignment miscues.

Dickerson has been owned in four games this season. At least even when he’s suffering overall in games…he still manages to perform one or two stellar run blocks. Heck that’s after considering the Brotherly Shoves.

I'm in a great place about this team... because I don't think the QB was all that great to begin with.  All is fairytale stuff you believe and keep skipping over his basic flaws.

I'm pleasantly surprised that the defense has stepped up this much.   Barkley even better that expected... the RG was my concern...both guys have looked great.  Unfortunately the kicker going through his first slump as an Eagle.

Feeling great about the team.

Maybe you are negative because your 49ers are struggling?  Tough year for you.

Yeah...we are doing well in pass blocking actually.   The QB isn't getting rid of the ball.
