Look at his 35-yard at the end of the third quarter last week against the Carolina. The play came on third-and-10 and the Eagles were on the edge of field goal range at the Panthers’ 44. That was the first of two critical plays in crucial spots made by Hurts. The next came on a third-and-goal throw to Grant Calcaterra. It was a slow-developing play and Hurts hung in until the end when Calcaterra worked his way free in the end zone for a touchdown that gave the Eagles the lead back at 22-16. Had the play not worked, head coach Nick Sirianni would have had a decision to make – send in Jake Elliott for a chip-shot field goal to take a 17-16 lead or go for it on fourth down. LMAO there is NO WAY this game should have been close at ANY time
December 13, 20241 yr But this field vision, reading the D and seeing the whole field all tie together. Nobody actually just sees the whole field…first off. They read the D and prioritize the reads with the playcall. Then when he sees movement with a key defender…that’s a ‘tell’ to look for a certain target to open up.
December 13, 20241 yr Author 24 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said: Yeah Hurts needs to make the throws. One of the plays AJ was open…their LB blocked the passing lane for Hurts to throw through. Or doesn’t that ever factor into your ‘review’/Hurts Hating criticism and blame? Yeah he held the call longer to hit Calc for his first TD. It took that time. You said the O line needed work,so how did he get that time to throw?
December 13, 20241 yr Author 9 minutes ago, cunninghamtheman said: The link(I posted pages back) breaking down the game did explain a few of these situations. Twice Panthers defenders got in the throwing lane. A few times Oline blew it. But you have Smitty and AJ adapting and adjusting on their reads based on the D playcall. So Hurts needs to expect the exact same adjustments. Get on the same page with some of Moore’s plays. But frankly the passing game is pretty flat out just rusty too. He's a bit small for a QB. He KNOWS that,he needs to use his legs to move sideways to avoid blocked lanes. If he knew how to PASS he would know this by year 5. He seriously needs to practice this if he never learned it,but it's year 5 now, what is he waiting for? HIRE a guy if you need to. HARD work is great, but useless if you are working on the wrong things. Defenders block the lanes because they KNOW he's not going to do a damn thing about it

Siri stunted the Os growth with going backwards on his short thinking one step approach. Better late than never here. Everybody but Siri is realizing it’ll take more than his one step approach to improve this team to where they want to go. So AJ…and whoever else making this clear is what had to happen. Our team has learned you don’t sit back with Siri and expect him to fix anything on his own. You get real deliberate and organized and force him to understand. Players…trying to steer our HC. Our team has been so backwards with this hierarchy under Siri. A HC should NOT have to teach a year 5 QB the fundamentals of the position. I watch Hurts and pull my hair out. Sometimes he is fantastic, other times he is a bonehead. I would prefer a little more fantastic and less bonehead

Yeah,I know the early picks bugged him,it had to as a QB. But he was making bonehead decisions. When your star WR gives you a window, you throw that leather, not into triple coverage. When the play is there you gotta trust yourself. This Sunday game is critical if we want to go deep in post season. Whatever issues Hurts has need fixed Sunday. The Steeler D will be more than ready and Hurts needs to answer. He really tosses some beautiful passes at times,so IDK what the hesitation is all about. As I say his mental game is lacking and IDK what can be done about that. It's on the player to fix really

No the O line didn't blow it. he had a ridiculous amount of time to throw. They are linemen not magicians. I will agree with the last sentence. He needs to understand the routes may not put the receiver exactly where they should be. As you said he has to adjust to the adjustments and he has difficulty with that. Those timing throws especially. IDK he should know all this by now. He should be lighting defenses up every series,it's frustrating watching him bog down

He will go get the ball if it's CLOSE,he will adjust to the QB adjustments if need be,but you gotta give this a guy a chance to make a play. DSmith needs more of an accurate pass. He will give you a window, but he is not as adept as AJ at after throw adjustments,so Hurts needs to be more accurate with him. December 13, 20241 yr Author Ball is hiked, the D pops AJ off the LOS,the QB adjusts to that, knows ABOUT where the WR will be and let's it fly,AJ will make any adjustments with the ball in the air. OK I'm done

BY FAR... of any QB to throw the ball last week.... and there are plenty of videos showing AJ wide open to where it seems he was a primary option. What would you say in that scenario, what needs to get fixed???
December 13, 20241 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: Siri was forced out of the way to let Steichen bail him out. Johnson wasn’t ever the guy running crap under Siri. HC ran the O last season. This season felt like Siri was letting Moore possibly do his work in TC. But then Siri began inserting himself dialing the O backwards almost begging game two. I don’t think Siri backed off ever either…on his own. Been waiting for Rosie to do what he does and interference to get Siri out of Moore’s way. That’s what it felt like just happened. Those slow on the uptick are starting to realize what I’ve been preaching all along: it’s all about how far we can develop in Moore’s O by seasons end. What is " Moore's O" ? What specifically do you think is so different that needs to develop? All I see you post is all this general vague stuff? I mean, it's the same sport? How would Siri or anyone else, stop our players from working on the offense? You make zero sense? Football is football.... different words for the formations and plays. A guy runs in motion, how much does the offense need to work on that to learn? A QB goes under center, how difficult is that? Does the left tackle pass block someone other than the RDE??? What is this entirely different " Moore's O" that you are thinking we are supposed to see?
December 13, 20241 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: But there is the version where Moore will stay with us in the future. If he feels like he has the respect and power to be the predominate coach of the O. Siri backs off….empowers Moore ..ughh more…that makes it considered a much better job OK.. here is the version where Moore stays with the Eagles..... follow me here because it can get complicated.... Lurie writes him a check and nobody else comes calling for a promotion. Then Moore stays... not difficult. I mean, Moore has had how much success winning playoff games? He will take another OC job for a lesser organization... why? Unless he goes to a team with a defensive head coach, how do you think he will take another OC job to where he can have more control than with the Eagles? OH no... Siri wants to run the ball and have his QB avoid throwing dumb picks? How can he work with that???? LOL He needs to go to another organization that is used to winning only 5 games or so, so that his QB is free to throw interceptions???? But I don't get how you absolutely know Siri is more involved today than he was in the spring? He doesn't have a chart during the game, how much control could he have other that deciding to go for it or kick... tush push... what else do you think he overrules Moore on? The whole media and the organization ALL say Moore calls the plays. Why do you think different? Because of your bias of Hurts? Because you couldn't see what I was telling you all along? He is a limited passer. Always has been.... just go watch his 2022 highlight tape.

Hard to be but so optimistic right now about how far this O has gotten. Hard to optimistic being 6th in yards and 8th in scoring.... with AJ, Smith and Goedert all missing at least 3 games each, some at the same time. In year one of this offense. Yeah, such a tough life being an Eagles fan right now... 9 wins in a row, being that high ranked offensively... best OL, best RB, Top WRs when they are healthy and play together ...some young studs on the defense... just so tough being an Eagles fan at the moment. At least 25 teams in a much better situation right now. So excited for those fans!
December 13, 20241 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: That third and goal? I loved he hung on to the ball that bit longer. Absolutely... nice to see him do what NFL QBs do. Stay in the pocket while your OL is dominant in the pass protection, and wait for a guy to get open and then make a good throw. It's awesome to see that. Should be more consistent with that.

Yeah, definitely not being run as successfully as SF right now.... that's the organization that I am so jealous of... did you hear that they cleared cap in 2017... about to have their 4th losing season since clearing that cap ... 4 out of 8 seasons they have been a loser. Eagles have had one losing season in the same time frame. Both went to 2 SBs however, the Eagles just happened to win one though. Eagles 80 wins and SF has 70 wins since they cleared cap in 2017. Eagles about to be 7 playoffs in 8 years... 49ers only 4. But hey, they have the better future... lol
December 13, 20241 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: Which game are you grading every single Oline players at or above that 88 percent pass blocking win rate? Not sure you can hardly find A game where our whole Oline pass blocked at 88 percent win rate. Mailata has done very well when available. Lane is having a fantastic season. Those two games might just be our best overall pass blocking games. OK... can you find a team that is better pass blocking out of the 31 others? The experts say there are only a few. With Hurts you give EVERY excuse... he doesn't have to be the best for you.... yet with our stud OL, you go out of your way to try to make it seem like they are not elite? No OL is perfect, we can compare them to each other, when you do that and take into consideration both run blocking and pass protection, our OL is graded by the experts as the best. To continue to try to argue against that just makes a person look dumb.
December 13, 20241 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said: No Mas you don’t like the pressers. But they were big this week on our team. AJ and Hurts(among others) all were saying it was about synchronization. Everybody getting on the same page. Does this struggle sound familiar from any of all the posts I’ve been explaining about learning a completely different scheme? Oline, RBs, WRs and QB….they all had misques. Spread out through the game. Our O needs to tighten up these details. Every player on O needs to be on the same page. The team is protecting the QB. It's obvious, all the media is saying it, locally and nationally. But you pick and choose when to believe things and when not to. Whatever is convenient for your agenda. When ranking amongst their positions with all the 32 teams.... OL, pass catchers, RBs and QB.... we saw who was ranked the lowest on the Eagles. That's the weakness on offense. But the guy does his style. Like he said, it doesn't have to look good, just win. He was never a good QB as far as the basics... he was a runner and had intangibles that you just can't measure with skill or see with your eyes. Why now would you want that to change. Using what he does best to win. His job is to win. He was dealt the best supporting cast in the league, he uses his style and limits the mistakes... 9-0. The Carolina game... he made too many mistakes. Mistakes on not just turnovers. All decisions can be mistakes. Sliding down to make it 2nd and 18 when we needed a FG... was just dumb. That's a bad mistake.
