And Dean’s injury means an opportunity for veteran Oren Burks to take over as the starting linebacker next to Zack Baun for the duration of the Eagles’ playoff run.

"I’m ready. I’m ready,” Burks said on Sunday evening. "The whole year just waiting for an opportunity. They’ve been playing really well, Nakobe and Zack. I’ve been really proud of the room. Everybody, even (Jeremiah) Trotter, when we got in that last game, he shows up and makes plays. Just the mentality we have in the room, it’s just next-man-up mentality.”

That’s just all I’ve been talking about. Did we get our team the most ready to beat Detroit? That’s been my issue with the short sighted one step thinking approach.

As you said, injuries play a part, that's why you plan week to week. There is no way to predict in week 1 who will be available in week 16,so any plans made that far into the future are efforts in futility. Every team says " 1 game at a time" except Ham of course. He is all alone in left field

Bring it!!!! To be the best you gotta beat the best

To be the best you have to strive to be the best. Can’t strive not to lose!

Not losing works in EVERY sport ALL THE TIME. Please state the difference between winning and not losing(this should be good)

One win away from facing the inevitable. Are we ready?

Are they ready for us?

How many times do I have to keep writing the list of all the things that improved for you to figure out your answer?

For me... playing not to lose would be punting instead of going for it on 4th down.

Running 3 times vs a stacked box instead of passing for the first down.

At the end of the half, you just kneel the ball when there is about 25 or 30 seconds left when you could attempt a pass first to see what happens..

Those things to me are playing not to lose.

Siri is exactly the opposite,  we complained about it...very legitimately IMO...vs ATL, New Orleans and Jacksonville.

As Baun told Dean when he was mic'd up...  " he trusts us, he did that cause he trusts us"

We know they’re ready…,wish I could say otherwise

Most every team does the basic idea I’m talking about. It should just be understood.  But I cut my teeth plenty with NFL coaching watching Don Shula and AR. Goal is to have your team the most prepared possible at the end.

What is going on AJ? He get hurt in the Commanders game? Or at practice?

How is AJ Brown’s injury being managed at that? He didn’t look great against the Pack. He’s getting rest days at practice….meaning it’s better for him to not be on it.

Didn’t he get injured way back in the Pitt game even?

Arthur says he was moving fine and open….so just roll with that. Stated he’d be at practice tomorrow.

Should be a huge game for AJ then

You or I aren’t going to be capable of providing that answer. The football field will…..the turf in Detroit more specifically…to make sure you didn’t think I was being to vague here.

Playing Darnold.... doesn't show they are ready

So the Eagles aren't ready to play on turf in a dome?

Ravens are preparing to face cold in Buffalo was the news story. Just think about what the Rams are doing

Their whole progression the last few years shows they’ll be ready

Great job of playing stupid. You are playing, right? That’s what I get for being very specific.

Can be more than one version of everything of course….or is this more just playing dumb?

Even though he also stated just days ago he’s more beat up than others

Glad to see FL and No Mas laughed at this. Shouldn’t hear a single peep from either if that’s where we slip up.

Wow....way to go out on a limb with a potential loss coming to the #1 seed!

I call that it will be colder tomorrow than on July 16th .

" I'm worried that we might lose to the best competition in our conference" see I called it.

Lol

No kidding we might lose... that's sports.  No kidding the chances of losing are greater when you play a better team than the week before.

Man you can't enjoy anything in life?

Nothing happened recently to put this into perspective for you?  Your team has a good chance of winning, but nothing is ever guaranteed in life.   Detroit has not faced any team that can control the line of scrimmage like us.

They beat Green Bay twice...so did we. They beat Houston, we won at Baltimore.  They lost to Buffalo.

They poured on the score to bad teams, we run the clock out.

You act like we are playing the 1989 SF team?

And bye the way... " the great O mind"  watch what happens when he doesn't have the players like he has now in Detroit.

Stop worshipping all these guys like they are rocket scientists... it's football, the players matter.
