"Winning is beating the opponent and improving is beating yourself. And I think both are required to be great and be remembered in history. … The desire to win just burned like it never burned before.”

Think we all know exactly who said this quote

Still replaying those nice, long. absolutely perfect passes in the SB. Thought that would shut the naysayers up. Hope they keep under-respecting the guy.

I love it when he hears even a whisper of a doubter!!

Hurts now has five career postseason games where he’s completed at least 70 percent of his passes. Only five quarterbacks in history have had more – Patrick Mahomes (9), Troy Aikman (7), Drew Brees (7), Tom Brady (7) and Josh Allen (6). Hurts’ career postseason completion percentage of 66.8 percent is 6th-highest in NFL history (minimum 100 attempts)

Sixth highest completion percentage in NFL postseason history all time. But…week one in a new O…he threw two picks. Get rid of the bum!

Next yr will have an adjustment, more passing. Can't run Saquan like that every yr. Imagine if we got timing routes down

Be great if these two, Siri and Patullo, can coach any new aspects to add.

Making sure you aren’t confusing against the blitz and being pressured

I'm not confusing " blitz" vs " pressured" ...they are two completely different things.

Vs the blitz is a team thing...like when they converted on that nice play to Dotson... Barkley and the OL picked up the blitz... Hurts was not pressured on that play.

The 37 out of 37 stat was Hurts specifically just himself on how he reacts to pressure.   Basically showing he struggles if something goes wrong on the play.

They adjusted after the bye...they limited the pressures ...but he also took care of the ball better himself.

That combo was the biggest factor in the offense that had elite pieces everywhere else. If you give the QB time in this offense, you put up big points as we saw with 67 points in 7 quarters with the backup QBs.

Like I said…it’s not so much of him struggling as him being coached to do pretty much exactly that. Exact coaching point of avoid turnovers at all costs. Which pretty much exactly means when under pressure being the main time to secure the ball. Yet like I went through after staring the clip from the SB…he just converted and converted and converted first downs under pressure against the Chiefs.

  • Can be misleading for mobile QBs:
This means that mobile quarterbacks who run frequently might not accurately reflect their overall offensive impact based on their passer rating alone.

  • Criticisms of the system:
Some argue that passer rating is outdated and needs to be adjusted to better account for modern quarterback play, including rushing ability

Meaning all these first down conversions Hurts converts with his legs avoiding pressure you are basically trying to penalize him for with your agenda.

You yourself harped endlessly about wanting Hurts to not turn the ball over. What scenario leads to the most likely turnover situations? Under pressure….very good boys and girls. So you straight are telling Hurts to not make a throw when pressured…then come back and try to use the fact he didn’t against him. All the while ignoring just how many first down conversions Hurts generated under pressure won his own? Tons. Not just a couple…TONS!

All this is a team thing really…hate to keep breaking this same answer to you

But maybe we should review that SB film again…since I pointed out like 6 times he made great plays when pressured…just in the first half. I guess I should carry on into the second half with the film review.

All last season Siri taught Hurts was get down and don’t get injured…one play wasn’t going to make enough difference in losing him.

Then this season Siri taught don’t throw interceptions and protect the ball at all costs.
How would anybody not expect lower passer rating when pressured under these being the exact main coaching points from Siri?

His career so far Hurts has made a living escaping pressure and buying time to make the big plays…arm or legs. Then you and Siri endlessly want to bang the table for him to eliminate doing that…then act like Hurts doing what you and Siri want is some kind of negative…by supplying a stat that targets exactly what is the obvious  conclusion to be had from listening to either of you.

Let’s just look into this Hurts struggles so bad under pressure theory of yours. Last season in the no scheme Siri O…easy enough to see him under pressure most of the season.
First play…takes off converting 3rd and 11 for a first down. It’s with his legs…so that’s a zero passer rating…showing he clearly was struggling(not) making that great play.

Second play under pressure scrambled and throws another first down conversion.

A couple plays later getting hot on his feet under pressure…deep strike huge play down field to Smitty. Oh what a struggle that was making a huge play …again under pressure.

Next play announcer even screams " under pressure” Hurts throws and converts another first down.

Under pressure he wheels around…then lobs it over the defenders head perfectly to OZ

Under pressure huge bomb to AJ…TD. Those struggles are just crippling under pressure for Hurts(again not)

The entire film is announcer calling out "under pressure”…then "first down”or "touchdown!”
